Any way you want to shake this, it’s a pretty impressive consistency.
Again, it’s stuff like this that makes me chuckle over the “You know Saban’s gonna play the underdog card to motivate his team” talk. He’s got bigger issues to focus on than what Vegas thinks.
0-2 with a loss in the division makes it extremely unlikely they’ll make the conference title game. It’s nearly a must-win for them. But they’re bound to 6-2 or 5-3 in the conference again at some point. Georgia might as well make it this season.

I know people say we have more speed, better quarterback play, etc. But it always seems to come down to blocking and tackling when we play Alabama. They hit and they pound, and it will be four quarters of “big boy football.” Like in 2002, the question “Are we man enough?” comes to mind. I hope so. It is time to send a message to the world that we have arrived. Our line play should determine the outcome of this game.

Have you considered a major advantage we have in this game? Nobody in the conference has seen Schotty at work in a big high stakes game situation. There’s really no “Book of Tendencies” on him. Makes it that much harder for Saban to gameplan.

A win on Saturday would almost eliminate the possibility of the rematch in Atlanta so many feared, unless both Ole Miss and LSU take a dive. I don’t like rematch games so let’s take them down and wish them well. Give Lambert time, the primary key to victory, and this will happen. Go Dawgs!!

I’m with you, rematch games have a way of not working out too well.

Statistically, that’s untrue. From the Wikipedia entry on rematches in SEC Title games:
“The SEC Championship game has featured a rematch of a regular season game a total of six times (1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2010). The team which won the regular season game is 5–1 in the rematches, the lone exception being in 2001 when LSU defeated Tennessee in the championship game after losing to them in the regular season.”

I think we will have to beat them at least once, might as well make it Saturday and get it out of the way.

Your math checks out, PTCD. We can’t very well get halfway to our second win over them if we don’t win the first. 😉

Bluto – I’m glad to see that you reinforced my primary concern about this matchup. Will many similarities across both teams, it comes down to the intangibles and I think Bama has the edge here. They cannot lose.
Do I believe they will win? They easily could. Do I want UGA to win and believe they will? If we play 4 full quarters of fundamental ball, yes we will win.

I’m gonna dumb down the adrenaline in this game and sit back to truly enjoy all of it. Ups and downs mixed together, gained and lost opportunities; all go together in any football game. Gonna try to keep the hopes low and anyone “wishing” at this stage of our playing year should be shown the door.
These Dawg players have something to base good plays on; good athletes , strong wills and togetherness. Let’s ride the boat and be sensitive as to what will make for a good game for this team; poise, athleticism and passion displayed by each player.
All of the above sentiments aside, several beers and a couple of shots of tequila into the game will take care of my weak ass. Just wish I could send some out on the field for the heavy lifters. How in hell are we supposed to last until Sat?
