This was a lot like Joe Cox giving the game to Kentucky. However, losing Chubb and any delusions of grandeur make it much, much worse.

We will win 9 or 10 and our coach will thank god, Jesus, etc.

Then the preseason hyp begins – rinse repeat

Anyone who believed something different would happen today is an idiot. Of course, the Chubb injury couldn’t have been predicted. But everything else — the outcome, especially — absolutely could. Pruitt is mediocre. Schotty is clueless. And Richt is … a good man, I guess. This coaching staff cannot — and will not — get it done.

Meanwhile, Harbaugh is halfway through his first season at Michigan, and after a 7-pt loss to a top-5 team, he’s outscored his last five opponents (including two top-25 teams) 160-14, with three consecutive shutouts.

Season’s over, folks. “Next year’s our year,” though, right? Something about a high school QB recruit? Ha!

What’s shocking is how we deceive ourselves…oh, Pruitt doesn’t have his recruits in yet, he just hasn’t got his guys, Grantham left a bare cupboard…meanwhile, first year coaches somehow manage to succeed with another coaches recruits. McElwain was saying the same thing, cupboard is bare, now they’re 5-0. With Schotty, hard to say yet I think. But Lambert looks like a coward in the pocket more often than not. Dancing all the time.

Next year’s the year. What else can we say?

Please!!! just STOP IT. Year after year……….
Don’t even start about young this that andthe other. Not the fault of the players, ok. This is beyond getting old. The SEC IS TOUGH, no arguement. HOWEVER, you want to spin this the noteable facts are below:
      Urban Myer —YUK
      Gene Chizik
Nick Saban –remove “b” and insert “t”
Steve Spurrier–even if you hate him, you feel sorry for him
Hugh Freeze– The Breeze remains to be seen but looking good so far.
Les Miles –the Mad Hatter remains a force to be reckon with in the SEC
Dan Mullens — works with limitations, but his MSU is often a force to be reckoned with. With his team you do have to beat them.
Now the Fl coach, down in the swamp emerging quietly as beasts of the swamp.
Georgia– pre season hype always good. Recruits: very good, strength of program regarding $$ and athletic facilities. Assistant coaching changes yet changes no more or less than any team in the conference, Plays in a conference where you can get beat on any Saturday in conference play
      .
Butch Jones–Tennessee fans, don’t be fools, you have suffered enough–shut up, be thankful.–you have the swag again. While your support is critical make no mistake your coach, team and the belief in each other won the Ga game. He and his staff with their players stepped up to the plate, have the good sense to know it.

I can not helpi it, I love the Dawgs , I love tem, I always will. BUT WHEN CHANGE IS NEEDED IT JUST NEEDS TO BE DONE.

I get to watch about 1 game a year with my Dad and today was it. He looked at me in the 2nd and said “how the hell is that team up 24-3?” I already knew what he meant.

We can still get to a bowl game.
They’re keeping it vanilla so that we surprise Georgia Tech.
300+ passing yards. Oh yeah, the Pruitt Effect.
Floyd can’t run 100 yards. Oh yeah, Hocke Effect.
That Carter kid is gonna be unblockable. Wait…
ILBs are gonna be an upgrade from last season. Huh?
Thank goodness we got rid of Coach Ball!

Ah well. Gotta keep fighting. But championship isn’t coming this season, and it looks very very far away.

    We Are Marshall.

For all you Richtophants out there, I’m curious if you still support him, and if so, why. We just lost to a 2-3 team, which had yet to win any meaningful game under Butch Jones regime. Even better, we were up 24-3 just before half, yet suddenly found ourselves down 31-24 in the 3rd. And for the final cherry on top, we made Dobbs, a pedestrian at best QB, look like Tebow in his prime at UF.

I’ll go ahead and guess the overall tenor of this board for the next week: full meltdown mode until Wednesday, in which even the most ardent CMR supporter will finally admit that we need new leadership. Then, come Thursday or so, they all will gradually revert back to the tired, “there’s nobody else out there that would be an improvement over CMR…plus he’s a great Christian leader” mantra. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Senator, your analysis of the last few games in the series hit the nail squarely on the head for this one. Big UGA lead early, we let TN back into it, and it turns into a one score finish. It finally burned us this year.

We’ve got a QB on the field who belongs at Wake Forest or somewhere, and he’s back again next year. Tackling looked worse than during the Grantham era. Without Chubb, we’ve got Malcolm Mitchell and Michel, and that’s about it, to try to lead this team back.

  21. And there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to believe that this game would have unfolded differently if we’d had Chubb.

Mark it down, tonight was when I officially jumped off the Richt bandwagon. It doesn’t matter how much talent we ever have any Richt, we will NEVER have an elite mindset, an expectation of not only winning, but winning convincingly, against anyone. And if you can’t get your team to believe it, the best you’re ever going to be is 5 yards short, 1 play short whatever. That’s our ceiling. And I’m sick of it.

We gave Butch Fucking Jones his long awaited signature win. Their fans and players acted like they won the national championship. I’m not mad at Schottenheimer but I’m surprised the idiots are blaming this loss on him. Despite losing Chubb, we were still in it . The defense just isn’t very good. Pruitt is t much different from Grantham who wasn’t much different from Williw. What the fuck? I don’t have words. I’m dreading next Saturday instead of looking forward to it and it has been awhile since I felt like that.

I dreaded this game all week and left to work outside when we were up 24-3. My wife asked why I was doing that, until she joined me about an hour later. I knew in my gut I had already seen the best of that ballgame, and that complete breakdowns were on the way. It happens over and over with this coach and will continue as long as he is here. I heard someone on the radio say something about Richt last week that was exactly on point. “He’s a world class human being and an underachieving head coach.”

Most knew what the offense would face, 8 defenders within 3 yards of the line of scrimmage.
But did Pruitt not know UT was going to attack his ends like all get out. Floyd was beat on every play. Ganus is not a MLB. When you have a QB like they have and an offense like that you get to beat the heck out of CMR and Pruitt. They ran 90 plays against CMR’s 60. Until last drive they had twice as many. In fact they owned the board and the turf. Lot of work for Pruitt.
60 plays. This is what happens regularly to CMR teams and this outdated offense he runs. Once again the one man running game gets gashed due to an injury. Doubt if Chubb comes back until 2 games left. But we have 2 QBs sitting on the bench who never really play, and if they did what good would it do. The only time the offense had any life what desperation time…less than a minute and 99 yards…not many can put TDs on the board.
This game confirmed by speculation about Shotty…a worthtess NFL OC.
Glad he ran Chubb to the outside on first play so a cut tackle would expose him to injury. Why not take a shot down field then. Or when up and ball inside the UT 25 facing 3rd and 4 and Shotty dials up a pass in the end zone. Have 2 downs to make 4, run some time beat on them…nope try a failed FG
CMR and staff could be the worst coaching staff in the SEC right now.
If he wants to win he needs to get a new offense where the QB puts pressure on the defense. Those plays to Kamara were brilliant. Totally out coach.
Decide to spend my time on something else this fall rather than the Dawgs.
CMR can not go one season back to back with a decent roster.

Such a weird game. Georgia special teams giveth and taketh away at a furious pace. Defense missed scads of tackles. QB looked terrible most of the game. But Dawgs DID fight back tonight. Didn’t roll over. And when the QB FINALLY delivers a well-thrown pass in a critical situation, it’s dropped.
Georgia ultimately had breakdowns in all three phases of the game. And against the hated Vowels. Something’s got to change.

Attended the game today. The last few games I’ve been to, I paid special attention to Richt on the sidelines. He doesn’t seem to do anything or say anything. When Lambert messes up, he didn’t talk to him. Once. He must communicate the least of any college football head coach in-game. I have tried to get behind Richt. I just wish he earned his $4 million on the sideline instead of philanthropic events and Ford Truck commercials.

      THIS!
This is what I started noticing years ago. It has been the case ever since he gave up the OC reins to Bobo! He’s the opposite of a micromanager. He gave up too much control to and puts too much faith in his assistants. He got the HC job at UGA because of what he achieved at FSU, then won two SEC champs for us when he was calling the shots. Then, nada. This is why there is such a stark difference in his first 7 years compared to the last 7. I think he could be a great coach that could win it all if he would only COACH!

Huge mistakes on STs, worst tackling since…..I don’t know…UF in 08 or maybe or GT same year (?), a QB that clearly isn’t SEC caliber, a D that looked as clueless as CTG’s in 13, and on OC that took our best play from the last 3 years, the toss sweep, and flushed it.

All phases: The Republic of Suckdom.

I’ll defend Lambert a little. He made some good throws in the 4th quarter. He looked bad at times in the game, but he made enough plays all other things being equal, which they weren’t.

This game felt like a Donnan-coached team. 9-3 and somehow not giving up 400+ passing yards to Grier and UF is the ceiling for this team now. If they play like today? 0-for-October is very likely.

We’re getting blown up all over the field at all positions. Maybe this team should lose a little more weight to make them quicker. Isn’t that what the preseason recipe was. Both Alabama and Tennessee are bigger and faster. Pass protection was okay, run blocking sucks and the QB has got to make the right reads.

I’ve been a Dawg fan for 64 years supporting them financially and attending home and away games…this was a tougher loss than last week’s…but each year since we won the NC we always seem to find a way to do this…I for one am turning the reigns over to a younger crowd…they have disappointed me for the last time…at my age I can find another way to enjoy my remaining fall seasons….ya’ll enjoy and good luck…

I’m almost there David. I’ve got kids I could be enjoying instead of screaming at a TV and drinking too much bourbon. I can’t think of a better alternative for UGA than CMR right now, so this is what we’ve gotten and what we’ll get for the next few years. Or worse. Does anybody trust McGarity to hire a better replacement? So given all of that…..Why should I choose to continue with this insanity?

Always tough after a loss. The dreams!! But, some of that’s on us. Where did the expectations come from? Acc castoff QB, raw DL & secondary. We lost our best player on the first play. This team just isn’t that great. That’s totally on Richt, he’s been running things for 15 years, no reason to lose to booch and willie. No problem with those who want him gone. Frankly kind of tired of defending him at this point. Sure, it’ll probably be worse when he goes, but straight suck-age might be better than the perpetual twighlight greatness Richt walks in.

The absolute worst part of tonight, is some jackass will blame the loss on losing Chubb and the shittiness of the rest of the season on that. Chubb was a major part of this team, but the reason we lost today was because of Sony Michel’s ball handling, a Defense that cannot cover shit, bipolar ST play, and a QB who can make good throws, but who makes at least twice as many shitty throws.

I am sorry, but KM and Sony Michel are better than a lot of RBs that we have won with at other times.

Also queue the ESPN “Is Chubb injury prone” meme for the whole off-season because of a freak-ass injury

Of course it would only be as bitter-sweet for Chubb to be injured running the toss sweep we keep telling Schotty to use.
