Shorter Mark Bradley: I know Mark Richt always says he’s never leaving Georgia for another coaching job, but he ought to consider the Miami opening because it would take him away from people like me who question his devotion.

Senator, that’s some quality stinkbait in front our biggest game of the year.
I have a much simpler solution. Bradley should move to Miami, work for the Cox paper there, then he can bitch about the coach at Miami. And be just as influential as he is in Atlanta.
Bradley wants Richt gone because he has consistently beaten Tech. The 3 game streak Tech had under Donnan was when I started hating Bradley. Between him and that old coot Furman Bisher they were the bitterest of old Tech homers. Mix in those idiot trolls Jeff Schultz and Terrence Moore and the AJC sports section in the late 90’s was a hazard to your health. Thank God for the blogosphere which freed me from having to rely on that fish wrapper for UGA news.
Bradley doesn’t half a shit about Tech or UGA. He’s just trolling for clicks.
Richt coaches in the Bible Belt and a portion of his fanbase thinks he’s too nice and Christian for the job. What would the Luther Campbells and Nevin Shapiros of Miami think?
He’ll never eat lunch at the fried pollo place again?
That’s me on the right in the white jacket. 🙂
That looks more like a tube top and mini skirt….
I fucking hate Miami Vice, man. Here’s why. Episode 1
Dat gator tail must have hit Don Johnson’s nuts to make him talk so high
I hear they are interested in Shotty….
What all the hate for Schotty?
Are you equally frustrated with the man who hired Schotty?
What a douche.
“Mart Richt is on the hot seat. Don’t believe me? Just read a prior column I wrote claiming he was on the hot seat.” QED.
He’d do a great job at Miami. A lot of heathens down there for St. Richt
Bradley has obviously not been to that third world shit hole called Miami in a while. And I was born there.
Where, Liberty City? Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Aventura, Bal Harbour…shit holes? I’d love to see what you call nice.
Most of these guys have zero idea as to how beautiful south Florida is. Granted it would be difficult to live there due to the cost and such, but it is still a slice of paradise despite the attempts to ruin it. I preferred it when it was called “Miamu”.
As a kid, we spent the month of November at the Di Lido hotel on Miami Beach. Memories of seeing Jackie Gleason in restaurants, Dean Martin at the Fountainbleu and crap I couldn’t have cared less about then. Vaguely, I remember being glad I wasn’t Jewish…
I haven’t flown through Miami International in quite awhile, but back in the day, my gosh, the sites you would see…
When was the last time you were in Miami? Coral Gables, the Grove etc are small parts of Miami-Dade. It’s a toilet.
Maybe he will consider it. So what? Doesn’t it take 2 to tango?
Word is that Miami has already stated that they’ll be paying their next coach $3 million, max.
I don’t see Richt leaving for money. Honestly if Richt was fired, I would be somewhat surprised to see him coach again, and not because he wouldn’t get an offer.
Mark Richt isn’t getting fired. Period. He might leave if approached by the right team in the right way just because he may be getting tired of all the BS whenever the Dawgs lose a game, though.
Mayor, I believe that street you speak of runs both ways. Dawgs fans are getting tired of all the BS losses Richt puts up.
Not disagreeing with you. Just stating the obvious.
This lifelong Dawg Fan Is also a Richt Fan. We are not all Anti Richt.
i believe the majority of Dawg Fans Are for Richt (The Silent Majority?).
(Make Mark Richt Great Again!)
Where can I buy one of the hats?
They know that 39, it just drives them crazy because of their failure to influence things. These are mostly malcontents who are tired of losing at life and would rather have others join in their misery. Some aren’t, they are just led by the loud noise and passion and lose their way to objective thinking.
After fifteen years, I wouldn’t blame Richt for leaving UGA, felt he should have left Athens before now. That is a long time to stay in the pressure cooker of a HC in the SEC, especially with the number of bad fans UGA has allowed to hang around. Will hate to lose him but it is inevitable, and it is a lesson some need to learn. I always felt SC and TN fans were the most delusional groups of fans, now I see many UGA fans have become a lot like them and the extremists are being tolerated. The program cannot help but fall off and stumble, imo.
Your extremism is on display through your intolerance of opposing viewpoints. You bitterly insist that people who don’t agree with you are “malcontents who are tired of losing at life” and so on.
But you fail to realize that reasonable minds can differ on the question of whether or not Richt has what it takes to win big in the SEC. Face it, there is no clear cut answer to that question. After another blowout loss to Alabama and a sloppy failure in Knoxville those questions only grew louder.
You sound like you need a hug, big feller…
And a kumbaya sing-along because takes a lot of work to teach losers/victims/takers.
But the final product is always shock and awesome! So much so that what follows is unconfirmed aerial surveillance intel of Mac, his super-hot girlfriend and his followers.
This image appears inside Mac’s beautiful mind each time he becomes the 101st Chairborne Ranger point man of the dim sum pak taking a body count of his fellow enemy fans in the never-ending war to boost troop morale 🙂
It’s posts like these…
that make us all love Mac.
But seriously, I couldn’t have done it without Mac whose selflessness gives us all so much to work with and Athens Townie’s perfect quick and dead segue for which I shall forever remain grateful
True about Mac. He’s a giver.
Just promise me you’ll provide live reports from Mark’s green zone Oconee Bunker if we end up in DEFCON status after a shitty day in Jacksonville.
I couldn’t resist a DEFCON 1 Global War on Mark”s Bunker even if I wanted to. Am busily at work in my fallout shelter now outlining vision and mission statements as to why he is eligible for a contract extension and/or pay raise even if he goes 5-10 against Florida. If Florida somehow manages to lose, I’ll save it for any of the trap games remaining on our schedule.
Mark Richt was never a Miami guy when he was in college. His family is midwestern & got relocated to Boca while he was in middle school. So why now?
Exactly the only job that Richt might…might… be interested in is Nebraska.
FSU, with a chance to clean up the program?
According to friends I have from FSU the Criminoles wouldn’t want him. Part of that has to be that he wouldn’t put up with the player shenanigans that Jimbo puts up with and they know that.
That’s right. The Florida State people LOVE Jumbo. They are perfect for each other.
I do not think Richt is the “Miami” type.
Jim Kelly didn’t call him the Boca Kid for nothing. Kelly said they followed him around just to pick up his culls.
Lol. Miami is going to be a tough place for any coach. They are a tier one historically, but don’t have a tier one program due to the arms race. Think they can keep up with FSU and Clemson with their structural disadvantages? There is NO WAY anyone would go from a top 10 job to that place.
Plus Ed Reed said he was interested in the job. THAT would be the awesome right there, and a much better fit.
I can’t see Kathryn deciding to move to south Florida. For that reason alone, I don’t believe CMR even returns the phone call. He’s getting everything he has asked for at UGA now. He’s not going anywhere unless we push him out.
If a mark bradley typed in ALL CAPS in the forest would it make a sound?
If the tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it does the chipmunk still get splinters in his ass?
Who’s Mark Bradley?
Who didn’t see this coming from MB and the AJC. The U has to be the worst program to coach in the whole Power 5. Crap facilities, crap non- campus stadium, and you have to bow down to Luther Campbell and other D-bags boosters.
If only we were that lucky. I’d help him pack.
It must be the scotch.
Mark Richt has 100% devotion to his UGA paycheck. He knows there is no other job on Earth where he can make the same money and have less accountability.
Bradley is an insensitive idiot who tries to convince other poor idiots that he has powers of observation. If he had kept up, he would realize that Richt has suffered physical pain with the hip replacement for nearly 2 years. While I have gone through the same pain for the same reason and eschewed pain pills for that period for the same reason (proactive prevention of dependency), I didn’t have to keep up physically with my job on a day-to-day basis with that pain (not to mention loss of sleep) as Mark Richt has had to contend. Bradley, you would not have just been weary, you couldn’t even come close to enduring as Richt has.
Some fans take license with their criticisms having followed the lead of disrespect put forth by B-M for years toward Richt and another coach (that shit has been endemic since Vince Dooley was hired and wasn’t considered “one of the boys” because he hailed from playing at Auburn). The negative nabobs have taken that as a signal to lay low in the weeds until a loss occurs, then return as if by signal to arise and show they haven’t learned a thing about CFB or our Coach’s wins. The fact that Richt is here now has been in large part to his love for Georgia and it will take at least two years of continued support to begin reaping the impact of the 15 yr disrespect and nonsupport from B-M, but the nabobs will try to gut the staff and Football Program before that can sink in and produced the desired result.
Miami didn’t pay an interim coach 700k to finish this year because they are going out to replace Golden next week. They need the time to get their coach (who is actively coaching a team now) signed and delivered for next year, but only after that coach’s season is over. They have to get him now and try to keep it under wraps to prevent an “interference” claim from that coach’s present school (Memphis, here’s looking at you).
Personally, I’d cheer like hell for Richt’s agent to contact Miami for interest so as to rachet more dough from the tightwads (who have deprived Richt’s staff for years) and place Richt’s income up there with other SEC head coaches.
So , you idiots who want Richt gone can now go over to the AJC rag and sing a chorus with your choir-leading anti Georgia writer who has tried to interfere here for years. Don’t forget to take your scummy “hot seat” shithole with you.
Yeah, having Richt put a money squeeze on BM right now would be a great move. Considering how great he’s done the past 10 years, I’m sure BM would throw a few more million at him to keep him around. Remind me to not hire you as my agent.
You haven’t left for the AJC yet? Don’t forget to take your shithole with you.
Richt is in his 15th year. That’s a long time. Do you know what year after getting first head coaching job many of the greats won their first MNC?
Bobby Bowden – 24
Mack Brown – 23
Tom Osborne – 22
Lou Holtz – 20
Vince Dooley – 17
Joe Paterno – 17
Steve Spurrier – 14
Nick Saban – 14
Where does CMR rank on the longevity list of coaches who never won a championship?
If you are talking about coaching tenure at current school without championship:
Frank Beamer -29
Kirk Ferentz – 17
Gary Patterson – 16
Mark Richt – 15
Gary Pinkel – 15
Assuming you mean longevity at one school because there are obviously coaches that have been doing this longer than Richt that have never won a national championship (i.e. Tuberville, Leach. etc.) Of coaches at one job – Beamer’s definitely got him beat, Pinkel has been at Missouri for the same amount of time, and Bill Snyder at Kansas State has never won a national championship (in two separate stints). Those are just the ones off the top of my head and I’m sure I’m missing some others and I’m also sure there are others that pre-date my time following CFB that coached longer than him at one school without winning a national championship.
This is Snyder’s 24th year at Kansas State without at title. 1989-2005; 2009-present
Those guys just didn’t Commit to Excellence soon enough. Clearly they accepted mediocrity for a disturbingly long time.
Not an exhaustive list, but here are some of the total years HC experience for active HCs without at title:
Frank Beamer – 35th year
Brian Kelly – 25th year (including 13 in Division II)
Gary Pinkel – 25th year
Rich Rodriguez – 22nd year
Jerry Kill – 22nd year
Terry Bowden – 22nd year
Tommy Tuberville – 20th year
Kirk Ferentz – 19th year
Paul Johnson – 19th year
Gary Patterson – 16th year
Mike Riley – 15th year
Mark Richt – 15th year
Mike Leach – 14th year
Art Briles – 13th year
Mark Dantonio – 12th year
Present day journalism has devolved to carnival barking in order to try and keep a share of a rapidly shrinking pie of both revenue and attention. Once you change your perspective from “this is the journalist’s opinion” to “they are saying this in order to get dopes to click and read” all becomes clearer. Bradley doesn’t care for UGA, Richt or Miami. He just wants people to hear about his provocative take on things and get their clicks.
And I’ll add that Schultz is ten times better at clickbait than Bradley.
