  2. Last home game always makes for a good tailgate, even if it’s a post-game tailgate. Unless we, how does it go? Shit the bed?

Build a fire at the tailgate entrance/exit so no one can leave. Ask me how I know? hehe

I wonder if McGarity even tried to lobby for a night game. Ya’ know since this is supposed to be a blackout and all. I’m guessing probably not.

Ugh.. These noon games usually don’t end well for us. This UK bunch are scrappers and are not you fathers Kentucky teams. But, Go Dawgs!

I’m comforted by the duo of butt-whoopings we’ve put on Stoops’ teams the past two seasons. Including one where Murray tearing his ACL didn’t even affect the offense.

And from what I saw of Miss St. vs Kentucky, their defense isn’t much improved. They’re probably the surest win left on the schedule (though Southern might have a high ranking by beating up on really bad Sun Belt teams, the two actually above average teams they faced on the road soundly whooped ’em.)

Fans wear black, not the team.

Wish the fans would always wear what they want (red, black, or white), doesn’t matter at all. But I do want black jerseys once a year at home.

If McFrugal, would wake up and realize night games are a edge to the home team atmosphere could support him if he would then just stay away from other football decisions. But I honestly think he doesn’t get the point of playing time at all. We have let the West teams put their influence all over this issue. Noon kickoffs are a real piece of dung, and I bet we have eaten more than anyone else in the conference.

The black jerseys are fake juice IMHO, Mac. But I agree with everything else in your post.

They don’t have to be, though. They are only fake juice because we bring them out for special occasions. Make them our regular jersey for our last game, our last conference game, our home game against Auburn, or whatever, and it’s just a cool alternate uniform. I like the black jerseys. I want them back.

I agree, and don’t pull the “whiteout/blackout” routine of color coordinating the stadium, or giving fans cards to spell out things and make designs. Fans should come and cheer teams should focus on football and wear team colors. Black is a primary color of UGA and a damned good looking uni, wear the black jerseys when you want, it isn’t magical, you still have to play. We have lost, and won, in red jerseys, same with black. Wear them enough that folks quit making a big deal out of it. Let the team (staff and players) make that call. I would just hope they don’t mess with the helmet, and never wear a monochromatic uni. And never, never do what UCLA did the other night and abandon their school colors for what ever reason they came up with.

Honest question, Mayor. Why do you believe that black jerseys are “fake juice”? Virtually every other program in the US wears alternate or throwback uniforms at one time or another. Was it fake juice when Ohio State trotted out all black units against Penn State? How about the recently sainted Florida coach McElwain allowing the Gators to wear all orange? Ole Miss and the powder blue alternate helmets when they beat Bama?

Why do so many assume that the only reason UGA might wear black jerseys is because the coaching staff can’t motivate the team in any other way, while every other coach in the US gets a pass? Might it simply be that college age kids enjoy wearing something different?

That is exactly the point. If the kids want to do it that’s great but it has zip to do with their performance.
