The quarterback choice will drain the oxygen out of the tent, but the big deal for today? Line play and turnovers.
Can’t say I’m feeling overly confident about the Dawgs’ chances, but I’ll be there.
I’ll try to update from Jax if circumstances allow, but in the meantime, consider this your game day comment thread.
I’d like to suggest limiting/making big plays as key to the game. Seems like we’ve had a knack for doing alright on some of the fundamentals but just coming out on the wrong end of several big plays in past games.

Anyone else notice that there is way too much talk time for all the CFB media pundits? QB play is like putting. 3 putt and it is hard to focus on the next tee. Repeated 3 putts and you start to swing harder on the tee and fairway. Our QB play in the big games against Bama and U10 was multiple 3 putts.
If Bauta can move the ball and maintain a drive, it will be a one putt and the emotional mood changes.

Following the golf analogy, Bauta misses 3 foot putts. A golfer, however otherwise talented, cannot score if he misses 3 foot putts. When you have a short throw to a RB or a checkdown receiver, that’s a 3 foot putt. Bauta throws passes just far enough away from the RB of checkdown receiver so that guy can’t catch it, the ball bounces off his outstretched fingers and a DB or LB catches it for an INT. Also, Bauta stares down receivers downfield and has a slow release. The net effect is that the D-Linemen can see what he’s doing and time it so they jump up and bat his passes, also creating an opportunity for a DB to intercept. I can see why CMR and Schotty haven’t played Bauta before. Now they have. I hope they stop.

Hell, what about this year? If FU wins the East (and it sure looks like they will) they have only to beat the West winner and they are in the Playoff. The West is looking a lot weaker right now, too. FU almost beat LSU and LSU is the likely West winner. FU just might win the rematch and I really like their chances against that poser team Ole Piss. Then it is who the 1st round match-up in the playoff is. If it is one of those Big 12 teams that plays no D, I think FU will beat ’em. Then they are in the final–and anything can happen if you make the final.

Good lord. Even Florida’s special teams are prepared. And the O? Really missing the good ol’ Bobo days when you could count on 35 points a game but wait for the defense to screw it up.

Our terrible special teams and offense asks more than our defense can provide. Good effort, poor planning and execution on ST-O.
I realize we are just not a good football team. We are not a well coached football team.

The Disneys won’t come out until after church tomorrow and they will of course proceed more with attacks or ?s such as “look at UT” rather than having any real excuses. Ohh. And it’s all about the kids or you are a fan of another team.

I am going to go back on my DVR and take a shot of the moment McElwain realized that all he had to do was coach a solid fundamental game and he would win. It was a smirk.

This is just absolutely pathetic. Maybe bobo was the actual QB guru all this time even if his playcalling was maddening to some at times. All three of MRs QBs this year show the same garbage tendencies.

The lack of emotion in Richt after the INT in the end zone. is telling. He shows more passion and emotion when he’s trying to sell Ford trucks.

He, the players and whatever fans are still left look completely dejected.

Someone should actually tell Ford that showing Richt commercials repeatedly when he’s getting his ass kicked isn’t great strategy. I bet they are counting the days till that contract runs out.

What would it cost to buy out this coaching staff?
LikeLike
Actually, that is a problem. We have multi-year contracts with almost all of them. And we are paying top dollar to them. The concept was that if we paid them more then they must be better. My wife has the same attitude. 2 products on the shelf. One is more expensive than the other. THE MORE EXPENSIVE ONE MUST BE BETTER! So she buys that one. That is what we have done with the coaching staff at Georgia. Same shit–just a higher price and a no-cut contract.

Right they never gave up but got outplayed by a not so good offense. Pruitt ain’t worth a shit either

Although giving up 250 yds rushing to a team ranked around 100th in the country in rushing coming in isn’t the best look either.
LikeLike
At least Pruitt improved over the 400+ rushing yards his D gave up last year

In all fairness to Pruitt, I think his problem is that he himself has been Richtified, meaning that he has gone softer than a roasted marshmellow

^^This. CMR has turned Pruitt soft. Pruitt has lost the edge he had when he arrived because of long term exposure to Mark Richt. I’m not kidding.

Sorry, but for me the piss poor tackling is a type of quitting on plays. If you don’t want to hit, that’s quitting.

Exactly. Just like the rest of our losses: Offense and special teams failures negate the good we’re doing on defense.
Pruitt is competent. Richt is not.

You are correct but the defense sucks too.

Pruitt, Rocker, et al are not the saviors they were expected to be. On the plus side the d played hard all game and was swarming. They just got out played once again by a mediocre offense and qb. Same story different team is all that changes

Remember when we were up by 20 on Tennessee? Butch Jones, knowing it was do or die..went for it on fourth down when he could have kicked a field goal. It inspired his team to go on and win.
Yeah..if he missed it he wouldn’t get the 3, but by going for it he gave his team hope. These Dawgs deserve better. t\
Again..kudos to the defense..they played well. That’s about it, though.
CMR, again..kicking a field goal when he’s down 20, is just maddening.

I’m still not sure how we managed to get up 20 on UT….

Well he didn’t want to get shut out. It’s not exactly like the offense was getting anything done all day.

Well I’m not surprised. I think that Gary and Verne kind of nailed it. We didn’t deserve to win and Richt is on the hot seat. Tell us something we didn’t know. We need a coaching change, no ifs ands or buts about it. I think Richt’s time has come and gone. I don’t think if we recruited a team of Ganus’, Walkers, Gurleys, Easons whatever, it’s not gonna happen with the current coaching staff.
I’m tired of Georgia breaking records…for the other team. Most points scored, Most passes, Most tackles, Most rushing yards, Most offense, on and on.
I’m tired of the Aw shucks routine from Richt, only to come back week after week with nothing different, nothing that works, just more crap. If I hear another AW shucks presser with Richt, my head might spin off.
I’m tired of sportscasters using us for examples on what not to do.
I’m tired of these kids being let down by the very coaches that recruit them, I think and really believe that recruiting will suffer this year, if we don’t have a coaching change.
The CBS guys just trashed Richt, big time. Man, they took him to the woodshed.
I’ve got Kentucky and GT tickets. I don’t think we’re going to win any more games this year. But it has to happen. If it doesn’t, there won’t be any changes, again.
Those kids deserve better, and so do we.

I kind of like Verne and Gary just blasting Mark Richt and UGA. They tell it like it is. Gary said that division 2 players would be executing the plays that we were messing up.

Richt deserves to be called out for this program’s persistent inability to focus and execute.

I’ve got tickets to the UK game next week. The only reason I’m gonna use them is because I’ve been promising my son all year that we’d go to his first home game and make a weekend trip of it by touring Butts Mehre and meeting Murray on Friday night. 5 top post game reactions Richt should have.
1. I finally realize I do not have what it takes anymore.
2. I apologize to all for thinking I’m a good QB coach.
3. Even good men can be winners but not me.
4. The ball does indeed need to bounce your way for a win, but I can never have it bounce my way since 2007.
5. I’m a man, and I will not longer take the shit on this blog so I quit and you get another HC.
