Observations from the 10, Cocktail Party edition

The things I do for you people. 😉

Given that I’ve already devoted plenty of bandwidth to what blew chunks on Saturday, I think pithiness is the order of the day.  Let’s keep things short and sweet.

Here’s what was good:

  • The weather.
  • Malcolm Mitchell’s and Terry Godwin’s hands.
  • Jake Ganus.
  • Jeremy Pruitt’s gameplan.  Hey, at least somebody had one.
  • Brice Ramsey’s foot.
  • Trent Thompson, until he got hurt.
  • Our pregame tailgate.

I posted before the game that I didn’t have a particularly good feeling about it going in.  I also thought Georgia’s chances depended on line play and turnovers.  That pretty much explains the brevity of this post.

I now return you to our regular broadcast, the “Which QB Starts For Georgia?” Show, which is already in progress.

    Liked Pruitt’s game plan. It was to hold them under 400 yards rushing and by George it worked.

    • It would have worked even better if Floyd and a couple of others had been more consistent keeping Harris in the pocket.

      • And, if the Offense had done something.

        btw, has anyone proposed hiring Jacob Eason’s coach or OC – if not the same – to replace Sch*tty? His school is racking up points.

          Hell if you want a HS school coach as OC you don’t have to look no farther than the HC at Colquitt County

          • I just want an incredibly successful (organized, imaginative, stategist) as an OC. I don’t care if he is HC or college. Please, no more NFL experiments.

            Prost runs the spread although our boys puts up some big numbers and he gets those boys ready to play every Friday night I just don’t think he would work at Uga but hell what do I know😉

            Here’s an idea:

            Jere tells Greg to terminate Young Schotty with a payout;
            Young Schotty takes a brief respite to Monte Carlo;
            Jeremy hires Rush after Greg outbids Colquitt County;
            All the debris is Hoovered up;
            The Circle of Trust is complete and
            We are Many Families

        Like the non factor disappearing act of Lorenzo Carter over 8 count them 8 games. Said it before that the jury is still out on Pruitt and his D, and I doubt he will be around long enough for us to make a call as to weather he is a success or not.

          Pruitt is a magician…….he made Carter and Floyd disappear. Kidding aside, I don’t think any coach can make Floyd keep contain, it just isn’t going to happen at this point.

          Guys on the radio drive home last night said Pruitt was pushing hard for the HC job at Central Florida, for what it is worth.

            Well, good luck on that, Jeremy. Word of advice: hire a DC who can teach your players how to or motivate them to tackle.

          So, we blame Pruitt for an underachieving Carter? Do we blame Richt for a dozen underachieving players? You can’t seriously think that Pruitt is doing a bad job this season. And if he does leave, I think championships will again follow him. That’s what he’s done wherever he has been. Until UGA. And our offense and special teams took away that possibility long ago.

      Are you really dissing Pruitt? One touchdown given by Davis, one “drive” from the four yard line after an INT, so basically 14 points given up by the defense. Yes, 14 points in over 36 minutes of defense played. The only unit of our football team that showed up. I don’t think he deserves anything but our thanks.

      • +1 – well stated, 85. The tackling was shoddy late in the 3rd and into the 4th quarter because the defense was absolutely exhausted from 3 and outs and dumb turnovers.

        Agree. Has anyone bothered to look at defenses in cfb lately? Even the top teams give up 30+ points regularly. For the next 2 decades, our fans will be whining ‘we shoulda kept Pruitt’ if we manage to let him walk away.

        And I have no doubt he’s high on a lot of teams wish lists.

  2. John Denver is full of shit...

    I was going to say a QB that showed grit and want to.

    Senator, your narrative could have started with the missed interception on the opening drive by Kimbrough (make a play, kid!). Then the holding call on Hicks killing a great opening play on offense (dammit, kid!). Despite the Davis flub, our D is stuffing the gators. There was hope!!

    But then the O does nothing. Interceptions, missed 3rd & 1’s and finally a lapse on D to give the gators breathing room in what was shaping up to be another Mizzou game. Yep…that’s bad game prep and coaching…with a extra week “focusing” on fundamentals no less. What a total fail. I credit you for posting anything at all.

    My good was the 18 year old scotch. I had hoped to consume it in victory but instead used it as a nice consolation.
