“And it will forever be in the mind of Urban Meyer and in the mind of our football team. … So we’ll handle it. And it’s going to be a big deal.”

Man, if you can’t enjoy the Ohio State meltdown after the loss to Michigan State…

Contrast that to the Buckeyes, who pointed fingers after the game.

Tailback Ezekiel Elliott saw his Heisman Trophy hopes get washed away on a 12-carry, 33-yard night. He did not mince words, saying: “The coaching staff didn’t put us in position to win. … I’m disappointed in the play-calling. … I deserve more than (12) carries, I really do.”

He topped it off by saying there’s “no chance” he will return for his final year of eligibility. Quarterback Cardale Jones tweeted the same message, saying this had been his final home game.

Earlier, when quizzed by reporters, Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer called it a “very poor performance”…

… there is something wrong with you.

I don’t jate Ohio State per se, but seeing this happen to Urban is awesome. Biggest douche in the Universe, and he deserves it.

When his players say things like that about him as they are ending their careers what does that say about Urban Meyer as a person and as a coach?

There are folks around here who would accept knife fights b/w players and coaches in the locker room IF they just had a nice shiny trophy.

This time next year Urban will announce that he’s quitting OSU. Georgia will have limped to another 10-3/9-4 season and have another great recruiting class lined up. Then the Georgia fans can hire their coarch.

I couldn’t view the link, but yes, it’s wonderful the way things went. I would like to have seen Harbaugh’s reaction to that loss though. I bet it pissed him off as he surely would have liked to have been the Michigan team to take down the suckeyes.

I don’t know, 92 Grad, I think Harbaugh just wants to see Ohio State burn. I don’t get the feeling that he’s the type that would rather ruin Ohio State’s season than to see them lose every chance they get.

Sparta would of pitched a shutout if no turnovers. Cryerliarmeyer deserves what he gets even from his,own players.

Uh oh. Sounds like somebody was not invited into the Circle of Trust 🙂
Would it have made a difference if he could have been subjected to one of Tebow’s “inspirational” speeches? As the fawning FoxSports troll Thom Brennaman once gushed, “Just being around him makes you a better person!” OTOH, Aaron Hernandez.

I’m with Elliott. Ohio State’s playcalling was baffling.

Maybe the “heart problems” are the problem… you know right here at Christmas… 2 sizes too small….

Would it be irresponsible to speculate as to whether Urban Meyer has lost control of the Buckeyes?

It would be irresponsible not to.

  14. I guess there is nothing wrong with me Senator, because I throughly enjoyed the meltdown. Chicken Soup for a hurting Dawg’s soul.

I sense “health problems” beginning to crop up for Urban. He probably has just about worn out his welcome just like he did at Florida. Urban seems to be one of those people that others can tolerate for only just so long.

Urban’s history is that he only stays a short time anywhere and then has to beat it out of town before the NCAA, the conference officials or the police arrive. Time’s about up in Columbus. He does have a damn impressive winning percentage though.

Corch mainlines snake oil into a program, gets the championship, then leaves you to deal with the DTs. Enjoy it, Buckeyes.

  17. Urban Meyer is a terrible coach. He hasn’t won a National Title in like, 10 months.

    • What does that have to do with last night’s meltdown?

I don’t agree that last night was a meltdown by Ohio State, Senator. I think Michigan State out-played OSU and Dantonio out-coached Meyer. Period. What we are hearing post-game is whining of the type that you would expect from a bunch of Urban Meyer crybabies with no self-discipline or character. Surprised? I’m not. Since everybody who can seems to be leaving OSU after this season I am hoping this follows the FU pattern and Meyer runs out after next year. He has plenty of dough so why should he put up with the abuse he’ll get after an OSU 8-5 season next year? FU all over again.

  18. won a Natty and has every significant player from that team returning and Corch mucks it up…I know that schadenfreude( taking joy in others misery) is a totally wasted emotion and benefits no one but I prefer to think that this is the cosmic karma scales balancing themselves back out. E Elliott’s rant makes me smile every time I see it. Urban’s boys are giving aid and comfort to their enemies and I love it .

It’s great that Coach Dantonio doesn’t just fatalistically say “Urban Meyer is the greatest coach. I will never beat him, so why even try?” No, instead, with a backup quarterback, he goes into his home stadium and beats him on national TV. That’s coaching. Not excuses.

Far be it from me to interrupt any chortling at Meyer’s expense. That said, after the “big deal” Meyer did “handle it” by ripping off three straight against UGA. One where he was one missed medication from wandering around Gainesville in his underwear (ripped from another poster here, who wrote that in 2010)
