And then there were four.
- Alabama
- Clemson
- Notre Dame
- Oklahoma
Quite a few games to keep my eye on next weekend, though.

āAnd Georgia fans, donāt be turds. Enjoy this. Soak it up. Itās awesome. If you donāt win this year, itās still not a failure. Itās a heck of a run. Back-to-back in the Playoff era hasnāt been done. So, to ask for a third I feel like itās gluttonous. I feel like itās not OK. But weāll be in the mix.ā-- David Pollack, On3.com, 5/9/23
What in the heck do you do with Florida if they managento squeak out wins over FSU and Alabama? They fail the eye test miserably and are the product of a train wreck of a division, but it gets hard to keep out a 1-loss SEC champ at this point, no?

If they somehow win those two games, they’ll get in. I think they’ll lose both of them, but who knows?

Poor Dabo. He doesn’t know that Saban is invincible and that any efforts to thwart his rule will be smashed. I guess he will find out the hard way how dangerous it is to have high standards. At least Dantonio’s ignorance/courage in the face of “Meyer invincibility” was rewarded, right?

NotreDame Uggggh

At least the seeding there would finally give us an answer to the burning question of who would win in a game between Clemson and Notre Dame.

Clemson beat ND earlier this season…

Brackets and playoffs clearly force teams to solve it on the field.

ND still not on my list of contenders, the best win is Navy? If they beat Stanford they would be in my Top 10. Hope they draw Baylor in a bowl game and get trucked by 40. How many decades does it take for voters to realize they are consistently the most over rated team in CFB history?

Navy, USC, Temple and Pitt are all decent to pretty good teams, and their only loss was by two on the road at Clemson. Assuming they beat Stanford, their resume will be better than anyone but Oklahoma in the Big 12. It’ll be interesting to see what they do if Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Michigan State all come out with one loss. It’ll be even more interesting if North Carolina beats NC State and upsets Clemson.

Oklahoma instead of ND. If Clemson loses look for Ohio state to sneak back in

I don’t think anyone other than Clem’s Son and the Bammers deserve a shot at the title at this point. I don’t care about 4. Iowa will get exposed in the B1G title game. ND lost to Clemson in the rain and would get boat-raced on a dry surface by either team. OU lost to Texas … enough said. There’s no PAC 12 team that deserves consideration.

If ND is that bad, Stanford should take care of the Irish this week.

I agree. I may include them if they beat Stanford. I still think Clemson will beat them badly on a dry surface if they play in the semifinal. ND better hope that Iowa wins out because there’s no way they want any part of Alabama. That Bama defense will absolutely suffocate ND’s offense.

Way too many teams with equitable resumes to fill-out the #4 position, so I only voted for 3. But Notre Dame?! Take a close look at that schedule again. Nothing there, nothing impressive.

Agree. There is certainly nothing there that should exclude a conference champion. Are Navy and USC better than average teams? Yes, top 40ish, but Temple and Pitt are average at best. ND should be glad they played Clemson in that monsoon. OU would beat ND by 17+,

I agree with the first three but had a hard time with number four so I ended up voting for six teams. I still can’t pick between Michigan State, Oklahoma because of the Texas loss, and Baylor for the fourth spot.

Well, well, well, our ole DC Brian VanGorder is back in the title hunt. ND’s game against Stanford should be a good un.
