Default Nick Chubb vs. Georgia Tech — Could he play?
No, he can’t, because of damage to multiple ligaments and cartilage around his ACL, which quite frankly I find HILARIOUS
Fuck that UT bastard. On the play that ended Chubb’s season, the first UT player aimed for his knee and the second one hit him out of bounds. Ever notice how many running backs get injured against Tennessee? Lattimore, Marshall, Chubb. They got nothing to say against anyone about dirty play.
I mentioned this one another thread but as I was driving down to Atlanta from north Georgia yesterday on 575 I got passed by a douche in a jacked up pickup with the license plate of YJ THWG. It’s truly pathetic how much the nerds obsess over the Dawgs. Add that to the fact that the nerds refer to us as THUGA despite the fact that one of their former basketball stars killed a pregnant woman in a drive by and they have graduated terrorists and they are the most annoying fan base of all time. Eff them.
My general attitude is that they don’t matter. They are worthy of nothing more than being dismissed. Irrelevant. Lesser. If they mattered in some way then they’d be worthy of contempt, but we have many other important matters to attend to, like for example auburn for whom my hatred shall never dwindle. But with tech, when you win 9 out of 10, winning is more a relief than a celebration. This year is different. They won last year so HATE is the order of the day. White hot HATE until order is restored! We run this fucking state you piss colored insects!!!! They need to be reminded of that. Hard!
For a change I agree wholeheartedly. And while I agree that they are irrelevant if you grew up Atlanta like I did their fans are about as obnoxious as it gets.
A-freakin-men to that. These guys are thoroughly obsessed with us. They are more focused on hating Georgia than cheering for their own team. Tech is the epitome of little brother complex, which is why they do despicable things like celebrate devastating injuries to our players.
This is not a rivalry folks. It’s a series. Time to remind them Saturday.
Yes, though I cannot deem them truly irrelevant until we finally take the “most wins in a row” mark from them. We keep getting stuck at 7 in a row, but we need 8 to tie it, and 9 to take away the only positive thing left for them.
Let’s start Saturday, and have an uncharacteristically decent offensive performance. They’re 3-8. I know they hate us, but if we get up 3 TDs on them in the first half, while shutting them out? I think they quit.
In 2012, a GT fan coworker called me during the 3rd qtr of our throttling by USCe to talk trash about how bad we were getting beat after they had lost at home to MTSU 42-28. I went from not caring about them to HATING them ever since.
Cut blocking ought to be outlawed…period. There has been so much emphasis in the past few years on trying to take head injury out of CFB, and rightly so, but little to no emphasis on taking knee injury out of the game. I remember when chop blocks were legal. When the powers that be outlawed the chop block they should have outlawed the cut block at the same time, IMHO.
May be some element of truth to that but it is a poor excuse for not protecting players. No reason the service academies cannot change offensive schemes. It isn’t like they are uber successful in CFB these days with their current approach.
Back in the day when I played almost everyone was playing some form of the veer or wishbone and cut blocks, let alone chop blocks, were legal. We all survived (its easy once you learn the proper technique on D-line) and our beloved Dawgs will too. GATA!
I always taught my students, whether 6th grade or in higher Ed., it’s okay, even admirable, to be a nerd. It’s being a geek that will make things difficult in life. If you’re a nerd, you’re generally astute, determined, persistent, self content. If you’re a geek, you’re socially awkward, which doesn’t work in life unless you go to Tech.
Geek: derives from (probably) Scottish word “geck” meaning “fool”. Also refers to a carnival performer who does disgusting things as entertainment. They’re Geeks.
I remember it happening some years back when we had a decent basketball team and were playing Yech in stegeman that the students and a good % of the crowd started the Nerds, Nerds, Nerds chant. I loved it.
Back in the early 80’s, Tech played the Soviet team in an exhibition in Atlanta. I wanted to go down there with my UGA hat and signs pulling for the Soviets. I didn’t make it, but I believe there were Georgia fans there doing just that.
The middle school ThUga meme is way out of hand. It’s just childish, or college in this age, name calling at a fake ghost. I’d like for any Tech nerd to name a UGA player with a better rap sheet than either Reuben Houston or Jacaris Crittenton.
Exactly. Any tech nerd that has the balls to call UGA a thug team all you have to do is bring up Crittenden killing a pregnant woman in a drive by. And when they bring up academics simply point to the scholars on their basketball teams.
The problem is, you presume that GT nerds will react to logic like a normal human being. They don’t respond to social logic, only technical logic such as digital logic diagrams in class. They hate Georgia because they realize they bought the fake juice that GT was somehow on a higher plain..both academically and socially.. When they look around at what they’ve got..and see what UGA offers, it f’s up their circuit boards.
Most of them don’t understand football..but they can read the scoreboard. When they see UGA winning almost consistently, if f’s up their cirucit boards even more.. They respond by picking their noses, looking at their nerd friends and asking, as they file out of the stadium in the third quarter, “we are better than them..smarter..right?” They’re nerd friend responds with, “just shutup, man. Let’s go to the Varsity and get a chilidog and go back to the room and play video games.”

Love me some Robert Edwards. Sucks so bad that he wrecked his knee in a meaningless pro bowl beach game.

Not as much as I hate UF, Aubie, and Tenn. Those games mean more to the success of a season than beating Tech.

Very true Kevin, but all we can do this week is destroy the Nerds. Yeah, those other games are much more important to win every season.

Totally agree. Why is it legal to dive at opposing players knees bc you’re too untalented to actually block like a real football player?

I’ve always heard that the NCAA won’t allow that to happen because it would handicap the service academies too much
