“I’d be surprised if he doesn’t play.”

Banged up don’t mean so much when you’ve got nothing left to play for, and Saturday certainly qualifies for Georgia Tech.  Which means Justin Thomas will be Paul Johnson’s starting quarterback.

I don’t root for kids to get hurt, but I will say that if you’re not making sure the quarterback in a triple-option offense is getting hit regularly, you’re not playing defense correctly.

Al Davis had it right. The quarterback must go down and he must go down hard.

Give him credit for toughing it out and suiting up.

    • Yep, but if he was hurt so bad last Saturday against Miami to have to miss the rest of the game, I don’t give him great odds of finishing this one.

But it will make a great talking point on Stingtalk about how the “thugs” at Georgia intentionally hurt one of their scholar-athletes.

If he goes out hurt, we could always gloat about it like the nerds do at Stingtalk.

I hope he plays and pulls himself out of the game voluntarily because there is nothing he can do to succeed against the Dawg defense, not because of injury…just frustration.

And I know you did not mean your comment seriously, but if I am ever a part of a forum where a group rejoices in the deaths of beings like Munson and Uga, I will condemn it and leave it. The Nerds are a pathetic group, no doubt.

I just want to see him throw the ball out of bounds on fourth down.

To defend the triple option stop the dive and kill the QB. Last year the B backs gained 240 yards……

^^This. The QB is supposed to get hit on every play if the D is defending the option correctly. This includes option plays run out of the I, too.

If no one listened to Mac’s comments last year (about Tech’s dive play) that Mac repeated all week long only to see it work to perfection for Tech when we played them, I don’t think anyone will relay it to the team this year.

Yeah, you don’t need option 2 or 3 if you don’t stop the A Dive. I will say we have looked better against the power run this year that I expected, no need to back off of that this week. Hope TT is healthy enough to play Saturday, we need all the beef up front we can get to set the table for the speed guys on the edge.
