The offseason head coaching market is gonna be something.

UPDATE: Then again, maybe it doesn’t mean what it sounds like.
Two sources who spoke directly to Les Miles say he in no way indicated today that this would be his last game. "Heck no," Miles said #LSU

After all, this is Les Miles we’re talking about.

Good luck to him. He’ll land somewhere fast.

He’s 62 and getting $15 million if he just retires. If he goes out and gets another head coaching gig at this point in his life, he’ll sure have my respect. From just the money standpoint, I imagine he could still earn well as a speaker and endorser of various products. How long after Vince retired was he on the radio hawking lumber and things?

Yea I didn’t realize he was that old. The hat must of aged him well.

Wow, I didn’t realize he was that old. He would be a better replacement for that bozo Corso on GameDay than the Visor.

Immediately after the game, LSU announces Miles is returning.
Lets see how long The Georgia Way allows its current coaches and recruited athletes to twist in the wind.

The Cajuns deserve exactly what they are getting ready for. Would USCe go for Miles?

I’d think Miles would be out of South Carolina’s league. They couldn’t afford him.

That’s possible, but his age is probably a bigger thing than the $$$.

You’re right. Les is too young for South Carolina. 😉

I believe that this is why we will be saddled with Richt for another year…the college coaching market is going to be nuts this year with a fury of bidding wars. To me, the more intriguing question is which of our current coordinators will be back next season.
LikeLike
It had best not be Schotty or the CMR is out talk could come to fruition next year.

I agree. I’ve already accepted Pruitt is gone to some place like Alabama. But if Schotty comes back and the offense looks like shit all year again? I’ll be as hardcore a Richt-must-go man as there is on this board now. Jettison Schotty and I’d look at it as a clean slate.

With all the new coaching staffs, there’s going to be a lot more appealing choices for a good OC than Richt’s sinking ship.
Schottenheimer will be back if Richt is because Richt won’t be able to get anyone else.

I’ll speak up for Schottenheimer later, but now will remind you he is trying to put in a new system. He wasn’t hired to literally replace Bobo, but as a new O Coach respect him for starting to form things more in his image next year when we can get new blood at needed positions and, using his system, be able to form a team instead of having to cobble together parts like Center and RB and QB all during the season due to no fault of his own. Venting, using Schotty as a target, ain’t cool unless you think he has uncoached a team, but I fail to see the evidence for that. Give the man a chance to do what we hired him to do.

He is to college offense what Grantham is to college defense.

Except that’s almost literally the exact opposite of what everyone said when he was hired

I’ve seen everything now. People who actually want Schottenheimer back.

That is a load of grade F horseshit, Cojones. Richt and Schottenheimer both said he was the hire because he was going to keep running the same system.
You’re out of excuses.

I’m with Skeptic dog. If they hadn’t fattened Richt’s contract last year, then MAYBE. But no way they’re entering this marketplace.
But I question LSU’s decision making here. I don’t think this is a good decision at all.

I have defended CMR over and over the past few years but NO MORE!!!! Kirby Smart is who we need so lets go get him NOW. No comparison between Kirby and Muschump. He knows our situation better than anyone out there and he will recruit his butt off.
LikeLike
Yeah, Kirby sounds very enthused about recruiting these days.

Sure sounds like a long-in-the-tooth recruiter to me. And if no one has noticed, the stir and fluff from the AJC has forced Richt to give up his life between ball games. Wonder how long it’s been since he attended Sun morn church? If he did, it would have come with screeching taxi brakes straight from the airport.
Kirby Smart. What an uninformed suggestion.
LikeLike
agreed…about as uninformed a suggestion as saying Schottenheimer should be given time to implement his “system”…a system that has never worked anywhere before…

It was factored in for hiring him as O coach. You should write into contracts that you aren’t going to give a coach a chance to succeed and see how and what you would be forced to hire. Nevertheless, we should stick by what we hired him for and see to it that he gets that chance.
Same goes for Richt. You were wrong about him before and you are wrong again, it’s just that some of you don’t won’t to admit that you have been dead wrong all along. Remember your name was going to change after you saw the light, Skeptic? Your football knowledge and people knowledge have never been on course and, like your words, they aren’t any good now as well.

I would love the salary but sucking up to 16,17 and 18 year olds nonstop? You work your ass off to get to the top of your profession and your livelihood is in the hands of barely post pubescent high school grid iron divas. not just them but the whole family also. At least in the NFL most of the players have a legitimate body of work to look at and they have had higher level coaching. Then again these coaches have chosen this profession and they know the demands going in. I wonder how losing Kirby will affect bamas recruiting?

Well, Spurrier wasn’t much on recruiting either…might be a nice transition to his HC gig.

Kirby Smart, wow you got to be kidding dude, that is one short midget who has never done any thing unless the other midget tells him to. Muschamp has head coach experience and would be better for a HC somewhere. CMR will probably retire after winning a NC in 2018

CMR had never done anything before being the Georgia coach except live in the shadow of Bobby Bowden you glaring hypocrite.

Yeah……..2 midgets with several rings and a lot of hardware!!! At this point I’d take ANYBODY but CMR. But if yall wanna keep losing every meaningful game we play then great. I’ll take my chances with someone else and roll the dice. Our program now is so stale and uninspiring because that’s the personality of our leader. GATA JYD!!!

There are two schools that should not be in the head coaching market in 2015, LSU and UGA. But there has been a queer (as in an usual way) strain of fan mixed into both fan bases for several years now so anything is possible. Careful Briles, losing the game tonight may spawn a movement in Waco in the coming weeks.

If I had a voice in the matter I would have some questions for CMR, Schott, and CJP. The discussions with these men, face to face, would be necessary fist before I would make my recommendation. I hope they would also have meetings.
Smart? He probably wouldn’t coach for Georgia because he probably knows how handcuffed he’d be with regard to running his program.
If I were Miles I’d have an awful nice place ready for residence in St. Maarten.
