Could Agent Muschamp be on the case again?

I have to admit there’s at least one possible upside to Kirby Smart being the next head coach at Georgia.

Gawd, I love the SEC.

Anywhere but Georgia. Alumnus or not, we don’t need an asshole with anger management issues on our sideline. He can keep that temper and the concomitant penalties related thereto in Auburn or wherever the hell else except Athens.

Just asking the question…we just ran off a guy who clearly is a class act because he didn’t win ‘the’ games. What makes you think we wouldn’t hire a jerk if we thought he could win ‘the’ games?

        ….

Honestly, I don’t even think that’s the truth. I think BM feels like they need to get someone that fits a certain mold. They wouldn’t go all in on certain guys just to win. Which is what is so perplexing about the whole thing…you fire a class act who has won 75% of his games because of the 5-10 games he lost that were inexcusable only to go looking for the exact same coach just from Bainbridge so the south Georgia boosters are happy. Great plan. Hope it works.

  3. I don’t see him jumping right back into big time head coaching a year removed from a badly failed first attempt. Then again…he IS crazy enough.

There is one OC that knows what’s coming all the time, y’all.

“Coach Paul Johnson was prepared for it after the Jackets’ success last year in Athens (399 rushing yards). ‘The B-backs gashed ’em last year so bad, I knew they’d do something,’ Johnson said. ‘They would pop in a linebacker so they were losing the linebacker popping. The guy was getting washed down.’

He knew it was coming!!!! Omniscient yet oh so impotent. Quite a combo they have down on the Flats.

(Just a reminder…Richt won more games against Tech than Bobby Dodd won against Georgia in his namesake stadium. )

      Boom double-agent-ing for UGA
      Schotty double-agent-ing for UF.

Surely there’s a UT alum capable of burning their defense or special teams to the ground.

Well, he does have that fire in his belly and he wants to win. And has proven positively that one does not have a damn thing to do with the other.

There are several reasons why I wouldn’t want Muschamp on the UGA sideline as a coordinator (or in pretty much any other capacity) and one of them is that he’d be a threat to bolt to the next open HC job if someone else was dumb enough to offer him the job.

Ideally, assistants are good enough to eventually move into coordinator and HC roles, but you’d like them to grow within one program for at least a few years instead of looking at a new gig as a stopgap, means to an end.

Do they not get satellite or cable in the Cockabooses? Did South Carolina not watch any UF games during his tenure? Maybe they only picked up the Cocktail Party on CBS through their antenna…

  11. I don’t think Tanner expected to go 0 for 3 with Fuente, Herman, and Smart, they may be scrambling a bit now if the Smart to UGA rumors are true.

I’d be very surprised if they really went after Muschamp though. I just texted one of my gamecock buddies who is like most of us here, on top of all the rumors though not necessarily an insider. He said the fan base would revolt if Tanner hired Muschamp, LOL. Latest rumor now for them is going after Fedora, but he actually said he wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being someone totally off the radar.

I thought they only hired retired ex-National championship coaches?

But seriously I hope they were just calling Boom for Charlie Weis contact info.

I would like to see Kiffin head down to Miami and Richt head to Alabama to be the OC. I think that would create the most chaos for college football.

This is beginning to sound like McGarity had no list at all.
If he does, there have been no revelations about a possible hire.
Are we there yet? Nope, the brain trust at B-M is drawing up a committee to determine who the search committee will be. Possibly a new hire after the first of the year, and all recruits have pretty well committed by then.
Thinking, efficiency, and communication are non-existent in the B-M complex.
One think we learned in the AD process, too much decision making or circumstances happen on the road from Atlanta to Athens.
Maybe McGarity needs to get his car and drive around.
