Hey, at least somebody kept the kids in the loop.
Old habits die hard.
Georgia TE Jeb Blazevich said the team found out stuff the past week the way the public did: "Thank y'all (the media) for letting us know."

“... Shoot, why does anybody who’s ever won something do it again? Because it’s cool. So, let’s go do it again. Let’s see if we’ve got what it takes.” -- Stetson Bennett, The Athletic, 3/22/22
Makes the AD who text messaged the team look noble by comparison.

I guess at some point I’ll stop being surprised by the fact that very highly paid administrators and coaches continually avoid tough talks with kids during coaching transitions.

It is disappointing, but that is expected with ADGM is suppose.

Eh…we like to find a reason to complain. It’s nigh unto impossible with Twitter these days to get news out first on a situation like that.
If it makes you feel any better, I worked for the team when Goff got fired and found out watching ESPN.

What is the perfect way to fire a coach and hire a new one without telling anybody?

So how did it get out this time? ADGM and his charges leaked it. Sure didn’t come from KS.

In a world where twitter scoops everyone, why is this surprising?

Exactly. In the modern (social media) world, any organization has two choices: announce things the way we have, leaving everyone in the dark, or tell dozens or hundreds of people in advance and hope (pretend?) that no one will leak it. If you’d like major news regarding the program to be announce to the world by a player/player’s girlfriend/player’s relative, perhaps with a helpful comment like “SMDH” or “WTF?” then you’ve got a perfect recipe for that.
And almost always, it’s that initial tweet/facebook post that gets shared, not the official version that gets shoved out the door once the institution figures out what has happened.
In some ways it is unfortunate, but it is also unavoidable.

Well apparently he told too many people as it was. Somebody over in BM has a big mouth bc supposedly the “Kirby was a done deal” got loose as soon as Richt was fired.

Rumored to be in the works is one thing, announced as done is another. That BM leaks like a sieve is a separate issue.

Jeb needs to just go ahead and clean out his locker and head to the U. sounds like he’s got some beef

Think Jeb and some most of the other Dawgs know what a beady eyed prick that GM is.

This just in players don’t count for anything and average fans are just wallets, if you want to matter be 1. a big time donor or 2. real big time recruit in a position of need. Otherwise shut up and go back to work.
