Shoot…now who’s going to punch-out Franklin?

It is crazy that even taking a new job they can’t finish out the season with the bowl game especially since we are in a dead period.

Apparently, UGA is the only school who doesn’t want new hires to start right away.

Will miss Ekeler’s enthusiasm and the job he did with our defense and coverage teams. Wish him well.

Isn’t he the guy that gave a player a concussion with celebratory head slap? Maybe CKS asked him to forego the bowl game.
Honestly, why not finish? He’s not even saying where he’s going (Miami?) and if you really love the kids so much show them a little respect. There may be a good reason, but I can’t see it.

It really would be nice if we could scrape together a coaching staff and some semblance of a practice regimen and gameplan for this bowl game. I live near the heart of Penn State country and will never hear the end of it if we lose this game. This is particularly annoying since we probably won’t see a rematch for another 30 yrs or so. I can’t imagine the psyche of this team right now but here’s hoping players and coaches alike get their shit together and GATA.

I am also within stench distance of PSU, and the terrible truth is that the State of PA recently reinstated all of Sandusky’s pension, which will be disbursed to his ever loyal wife.

No coaches? No problem. Any 4 or 5 GA’s should do the trick. We need to go nuts in a good way. Open up the field, free Ramsey and leave everything we’ve got on the turf that day. Go for it on every 4th down – never punt, onside kick every time, and always go for 2. Ask yourselves this: what have we got to lose? We still get paid for showing up. And if we lose, we can always blame ADGM for leaving us pantsless in December.

I am definitely in favor of freewheeling it as long as we don’t get anyone hurt. If I knew they were going to do it, I’d buy tickets and go just to see it. It really can’t hurt and the players might actually have fun.

Heard a rumor today that CKS is high on Brice. Thinks he got a raw deal from Schitty. And even if the boy sucks, well, hell, Baton got his day in the Florida sunshine. Why not let Brice go down swingin’ in a game that will count for nothing except a B-M payday?

Count for nothing. Count for nothing. Why in the f*cking hell are we playing this game, risking getting players hurt, putting the Georgia brand on the line, and possibly losing some recruits if the Dawgs get blown out, if we are not even seriously going to try to win the game? Goodness, I hate hearing loser sh!t like that!!

It counts for nothing except Mickey’s bottom line and the checks the WWL throws the schools for putting all that stuff you just listed on the line. Treat these games like the scrimmages they have become. When 5-win teams get to go to a bowl, the bowls are no better than t-ball tourneys with trophies for everybody. That’s why I say we just play it like there’s nothing to lose except a little time.

I respect the fact the game means nothing to you and I would not presume to try to change your mind. I do want to go on record that there are some of us with differing views. Anytime UGA plays the outcome is important to me.
I understand things change in life, so I have to accept the fact that this silly, ESPN created college football playoff set up means that a lot of fans agree with Eric Kasilious that all that counts is being 1-4, and there is no difference in being 1,2,3 or 4, and the rest are in a 120 team tie for last.playing in the Sugar Bowl is no more rewarding than playing in the Birmingham Bowl and is no more rewarding than not even playing in a game.
It does matter to me than we finish 10-3 and in the final rankings because A. It is a game and I want us to win it.
B. The result will be recorded for posterity.
C. If I didn’t care I am buying into the “number 5 is no better than number 125” attitude and will lose interest in the whole activity.
I understand you disagree, and why. I am not saying my view is better. It is just different.

Should the Dawgs have their doors blown off by THIS PSU team it will be the World’s most appropriate rotten cherry on top of this Turd sandwich of a season.

I’ll say this: PSU’s offense may well be more anemic than that of the Dawgs. And their O-coordinator was canned two weeks ago so it may be Lil Jimmy Franklin calling the shots.

How long before bowl contracts start to stipulate that the team must have a certain percentage of staff that coached the season present on the sidelines. If we come out flat and the game sucks, I guess there could be repercussions? Like, the bowl could penalize Georgia somehow for not fielding a competitive team in good faith?
The wording escapes me, but basically, if it appears that Georgia is not taking the bowl game seriously they might get pissed and do something about it.

They are letting teams with a losing record in bowl games, I don’t think they are going to penalize Georgia for going through a coaching change.

The cities and the bowls are doing just fine, lets see them return money from Disney. Essentially if you are not in the playoffs, you don’t care, especially if you’re a senior. They are simply present for the fruits of their labor and I for one don’t blame them one bit.

Maybe Shotty read all the nasty shit here and said “To Hell With Georgia”!

I am convinced Shotty did not quit because quitting would forfeit his million dollar plus buy-out. I am convinced UGA told him to take the holidays off.
It is possible he is about to get another job and UGA is releasing him from his contract now to reduce the buy-out.
In any event, he isn’t just saying, “I quit.”

So we have people who bitched that Kirby didn’t start soon enough and questioned why in the hell the was sticking with Bama for the bowl. Now they are bitching that these coaches are not staying for the bowl? sheesh

In the last pre-bowl house cleansing, Rodney Gardner and the GAs aTm to 20. I would rather have John Lilly form the game plan and call the offense than Schotty, so I consider that to be a win.

From an offensive sideline. view there were really no coaches on the side l ine during the season. Players should feel good about bowl game.
Hire dooley and donnan for a few days. Then fire them. Call them grad assists.

Probably score more than any of the last 6 season games.
How many D coaches are coming from Bama.
Take a guess and a review.

I can’t stand the thought of losing to Franklin.
We have no HC, OC, DC, and our quarterback is finishing high school. Greg McGarity should be compelled to stand on the sideline giving the players Powerade.

This is why predicting bowl games is a fool’s errand. Georgia could win or lose this game by 20 and it wouldn’t surprise me.

It would be nice to see McGarrity or Smart reach out to some old Georgia Players to have them on the sidelines to show the players and seniors specifically that it is not all about the coaches but about them- Herschel, Champ Bailey, Hines Ward, Shockley, etc. in their ear, giving them encouragement would be nice given the circumstances of their last game going after 40 wins

The more that find new employment and leave before the year is complete, the less UGA pays for buyouts, yes? This works in UGA’s favor long-term. I wish him well.

This bowl game should have been declined. They can’t even sell half the tickets. No one wants to go back to Jacksonville. Our season came to a crashing halt two years in a row in Jacksonville.
