Bowl practice kicked off yesterday and the old and new staff commingled.
Check out Jim Chaney’s reaction here:

Is that a “oh, Lord, what have I gotten into here” look, or what?
Not to be outdone, here’s Sam Pittman’s take.

Dave Goldman/AP
Not exactly your typical happy camper look.
Have at it in the comments.
I hope they are dissatisfied with what they see.

They have to be. Pittman is used to being surrounded by 320lb lineman on his roster. Serious road graders that hold their ground. I can’t imagine he is impressed with our 290lbers.
Chaney has to be wondering where his play makers are but then again neither of these guys are from programs that were any better by any stretch than ours.
The lack of roster management just has to jump out at you. That costs us at least a loss a year. Look at what we have coming back next year on paper. It will cause you to lose sleep.

Playmakers? Like Michel, McKenzie, Blazevich and Godwin?

Yeah, he has to be focused on getting something out of the QBs because he has the weapons at WR, TE, and RB.

I don’t think I could use the plural of weapon at WR. It was pretty much Mitchell (who’s a senior and not coming back) and Godwin at WR making plays this season.
Still not sure how the coaching staff saw all the injuries at WR in 2012-13, but also the success of the offense with big WRs like Brown, Conley, and Bennett, but didn’t land recruits of similar size who could be ready and play in 2014.

I don’t think it is a coincidence that CMR’s best year was his second one and that almost all the players were leftovers from Donnan.

No, a player has to be named to the All-SEC Team in order to be any good. Also, another way we know that we have no talent is that we played poorly for long stretches this year.

BLAZEVICH? I can’t name a single play he made all season.

Nor can the fired coaching staff.

Yep… Pruitt made an impact on the administration and pretty much fixed the defense roster wise. It’s too bad he wasn’t in charge of the offense too.
With Chubb out we have one sec running back… we don’t have enough receivers to put on a spring game without starters playing both red and black… offensive line is worse. Our tight ends are good and Lilly is gone. Imagine spring without Eason.
Good luck Miami. People don’t change.

Not to worry, Eason is an early enrollee so he will participate in Spring practice (he’s gonna need it…_).

The last 2 years Ga has had 85 scholarship players as of cut off date, believe that is all allowed. Are all SEC caliber no, but every school misses on recruits. Coming back is a 10 win team and up until recently a top 3 recruiting class in country coming in. What am I missing here?

These two have their work cut out for them. No doubt. Pittman looks like an OL coach. I hope he can change the culture of just having enough decent linemen.

Indeed, player development and recruiting. Better coaching and more functional S&C should have an immediate impact in 2016 as our returning OL, albeit short on quantity, has good talent. Pyke was not highly ranked in HS but has made All-SEC teams in 2014-15, Kublanow was Rivals #2 Center, Sims a Rivals #18 OT, Wynn a Rivals #6 OG, K. Baker a Rivals #10 DT, and Allen a Rivals #13 OT. Wonder to what extent Pittman’s blocking scheme[s] will differ from Sale’s.

Quoting CKS, there is only a inch separating Ga and Ala. Guess he must have misread the roster. Pittman Nd Chaney jumped at the opportunity to come to Ga because Ga has terrible players, leaving behind the national champs they were coaching?

Apparently Saban is more favored by GOD than Richt.
Saban has built an ark.
He has two of everything. Two deep O and D lines. Two DCs. Two HCs.
Think many of we Dawg fans agree with his remarks about Smart being at Bama thru mid January 2016 will hurt the team re staff, recruiting, and getting the whole thing going.
For sure he will be way behind Florida and Tennessee.
Firmly believe it will hurt Smart for at least 2-3 seasons. And by then he may not be able to recover.
You would think he would be putting down more of his staff on a weekly basis now.

Well….
(A) I doubt very seriously God is worried the least little bit about the talent level of any college football team…
(2) if a few weeks of double duty puts Smart behind UT and UF for 2-3 seasons…then he never had a chance anyway.
(D) Relax, we’ll be back to our 10 win seasons soon enough…
