If Keith Marshall doesn’t see a respectable amount of playing time in the bowl game, it’s time to wonder what was going on with him and the coaches this past season.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
I know he was banged up at the end of the season, but Marshall is so much more of a better player than Douglas. He picks up blitzes, catches the ball out of the backfield, and runs more fluidly than Douglas.

He ran hard vs Kenrucky and Auburn. I have no idea what’s going on, but clearly he and someone on the coaching staff don’t jive.

No Douglas wasn’t a 5 star …pursued by all the big schools.
In spite of that, against SC he saved our bacon…did it again when needed. DGD.
imho.

No doubt he has done good things for us and is a DGD. I’m really glad he isn’t a B-back at tech. I still don’t understand why Brown has been sending him into the game before Marshall. Douglas doesn’t scare defenses into making sure they are aware he’s in the game. Teams know they can run blitz the middle when he’s in the game with limited risk. Marshall has been really close multiple times to hitting big plays this year, and teams are aware when he comes into the game that he can run by you if you don’t maintain gap responsibility.

IDK either ee. Keith is an awesome back with soft hands. I hope he gets his shot.

Did you see the stiff arm on the guy in the UK game? I don’t imagine you would say that to his face.

Clearly McGarity and The Georgia Way are responsible for underutilizing Keith..

Maybe we will get a glimpse of Turman. I have always wondered why he never saw the field. I know injuries have been an issue but he supposedly has been healthy this year.

Handling of the running back duties is just one of two big offensive mysteries this year. The other was utilization of the tight ends. I’m sure I’m missing some mysteries, but those were two big, glaring ones.

Two big glaring mysteries. The lack of time for Marshall & the lack of use
of the tight ends. Two things I kept hoping was a part of the game plan.?.

I can solve the missing TE mystery. They had to keep them in to block to cover up the terrible tackle play we had. We had 5 guards on the offensive line. The tackles were in name only.

Time to burn Crowder’s redshirt and watch him go for 200… perfect.

i wish Marshall nothing but the best. Maybe he will make a big comeback in
the NFL. I certainly expected more playing time for him this year. ?.

Personally I never saw Keith as an every down back. Ran too upright, not great balance. Think he would have been optimal as a 3rd down back but we never even used him in that role really.

As a freshman and until the injury, he had everything. He wasn’t going to be a 30-carry per game back, but that wasn’t his role before his injury. He was the fresh legs that would run by people. I thought he should have gotten a look at wide receiver after his injury.

It will be interesting if we try to do something different than the Snoozefest Schotty Offense.

I really think Keith has a knee that has heald as much as it can and is not going to get any better. If he thought he could play a healthy year he would be a fool to go pro now. He is a DGD whose body and the cow pasture in Knoxville betrayed. Wish him the best of luck in the bowl game and the draft.

I think KM is a DGD that has certainly had a snakebit career at Georgia. I’m glad to hear that he’s got his degree in something useful because even had he not had injuries I don’t see him as an NFL back. Who knows though. I guess he could be a Darren Sproles type of small back but I can’t see him getting drafted high. Might even have to go the free agent route. And to think the recruitniks had him rated higher than Gurley coming out. I do wish him the best of luck and hope he proves me wrong.

I’ve heard his knee still bothers him and that he’s one of those people who just never properly heal. How much, I don’t know, but I’ve come to the conclusion that everyone is trying to save him for a defect shot at an NFL contact.

I would love to see Marshall have a huge game vx Penn St. He looked good against Tech but they didn’t seem to want to give him any playing time. I hope he becomes the Terrell Davis is generation.
DGD.

His is a DGD his problem is he ran to upright and the one that stands out to me if you really watch ……… he does not have the vision that’s needed to
be an elite back. Hope he makes it to the NFL and shines.
