Nice work, if you can get it.

Georgia paid a search firm more than $42,000 to give Greg McGarity the answer he wanted.

On the bright side, at least McGarity has someone he can point a finger at if the Smart hire doesn’t work out.

You can’t put a price tag on peace of mind, y’all.

Nice Christmas gift for his buddy…the result of this may work out well, but the “process” was a complete farce…

  3. So what. The Georgia regents paid a firm $50,000 to do a name study for the merger of Augusta State and MCG, and then chose a lame ass name that was not even in the top three. THAT was a bigger waste of money.

And now they are changing it again to get Augusta back in the name. My sister and brother-in-law both went to MCG and have been donors for many years, but now when they get a call from “Georgia Regents University”‘ they tell them “sorry, that’s not where I went to School”.

The BOR was all about themselves in that study. It is mind boggling how they were so honed in on naming that school they created after themselves that they tossed the history of Augusta University and MCG aside. Both decisions are bad and a waste of money!

      • @Dawg abides: I am new to this particular venture. They seriously named it after themselves. I did wonder what the hell Georgia Regents U. was.

  4. Is it just a pretend search with forgone conclusion? So why make a fools of the fans and just say ADGM and BM always dreamt of KS anyway. A waste of donors money for a good vacation by Friends in the search firm.

But he just made the decision to fire Richt driving home from the Tech game that got us to nine wins.

What the heck else was he supposed to do?

Georgia paid $400,000 in 2014 to hire an architectural firm to do the feasibility study/site search on the IPF. BTW that was well before Pruitt ever made his comments.

You evidently don’t follow politics or you would be able to spot cronyism when it appears.

  9. This will never provide cover for ADGM when KIrby has brain farts and we do what I expect, which is regress to the mean. It costs a helluva a lot more than 40K to to cover an ass that is hanging that far out in the wind.

Most disappointing fact: the search firm is apparently run by a former Gator, so it’s not even a smart kickback to someone with serious Hartman Fund contributions.
