In fairness, he’s a mediocre at best OC who is lucky to still have a job, and he parlayed that 300K haircut into a 3 year extension that still pays 1.2 mil yearly.
Cam Cameron must have given the LSU AD this same speech he gave Dolphin fans a few years back….

Good God! I’d pay money to NOT have to live in Baton Rouge, and I’m originally from Louisiana.

With the offensive production LSU has suffered through in recent years, I would say he is lucky to get that contract. Other than Mettenberg, someone they fell into that had few developmental shortcomings. who has come close to being average in Baton Rouge at QB? They have been very patient with him, and have enjoyed solid performances from their running game. $1.2MM and a contract for years is more than I would have offered, if I kept him at all.

Izzat the football team’s concession to the state budget crunch?

I like Les, but he’s never been able to coach up offense. Mettenberger and Matt Flynn succeeded in spite of not because of Les’s coaching.

Louisiana is in a worse situation budget-wise, but this is what it will look like once the bubble bursts. First, viewers drop cutting TV revenue, TV contracts to conferences get renegotiated, salaries start to fall, and so on. Add paying players, losing control of image rights and it starts to add up. The current status quo is unsustainable.
