“Having a kid sit out a year is not like going to jail.”

Remember, there are people out there who will argue with a straight face that the current NCAA transfer policies are for the benefit of the kids.

Will this be all over Sportscenter or is that reserved for when UGA is involved? This is far worse than Turman. This kid has graduated and been told he has no spot on the team yet he can’t go where ever he likes? Hope to hear Bilas and other talking heads address this like they did Kirby.

I don’t think he graduated. If he had, He could go to another school as a graduate student with no penalty. That’s the one ‘loophole’.

Article says he’s graduating this semester AND was told they had no scholarship for him but he’s still restricted. Unless that’s inaccurate….

        • You are accurate, the Michigan player will be a graduate transfer. Michigan had already recruited someone else and didn’t want him which is probably why the coach wants to restrict his transfer. It is hypocritical of the Michigan athletic department though since they accept a graduate transfer from Iowa last year who became their starting QB.

I think heyberto was referring to Turman who had not graduated from UGA when he announced he wanted to transfer.

That’s what I meant.. Truman hadn’t graduated. If you graduate, you still have to be released from your letter of intent? I guess it’s just that you don’t have to wait out a year? If that’s the case with Turman, that’s triple shitty.

I’m just glad I didn’t have to forfeit 25% of my class time but still have to take the tests when I transferred to another school.

Maybe he could get arrested and dismissed from the team, then he would be immediately eligible right? I’m kidding, I think.

It is mind boggling that a conference or coach can finfd this defensible.
