Sending a subtle message

Georgia named its spring practice honors recipients yesterday.  23 players received mention, but, tellingly, no one earned a most valuable player honor.

  1. The MVP are the Georgia Dawg fans. Go Dawgs.

The MVP is Kirby Smart. NOBODY ELSE could have culled 100,000+ into Sanford Stadium for a spring practice.

Football being the ultimate “team game”, I could care less about a MVP (or Heisman) award recognizing an individual for anything but a position award as being “better” than others…no one succeeds in this sport without others doing their collective part.

If Patrick is singled out as a “most improved” player, that is a great sign for the defense because he looked pretty good in 2015 as a freshman. Stanley is another who we needed to step up in 2016, at a key position.

Also note that IMac was recognized for a hustle award, seems to indicate any “tude” issues he had last season may be behind him. Also pleased to see Gaillard showing up positive in his OL position conversion.
