Kirby Smart sweats the small stuff.

On one level this sounds almost silly – okay, not silly on the level of being cited for emerging from an alley, but still…

Briscoe was arrested for driving without a valid driver’s license on April 23 by University of Georgia police. Briscoe was pulled over after an officer noticed he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. It was then discovered Briscoe wasn’t licensed to drive in any state.

Apparently, according to Smart, Briscoe wasn’t the only Georgia player who did not have a license.

“We had some other guys on the team who didn’t have driver’s licenses and we got it corrected,” Smart said.

… but on another, it’s a relief to see somebody paying attention to the fine print like this.  If nothing else, it lowers the chances of Jimmy Williamson’s finest getting their work in the press.

I wonder who’s responsible for checking on the players’ middle names.  Kirby’s on the mother, right?

Richt had someone doing the same after a previous rash of DWL. I wonder how long he kept that up? Also, I wonder what percentage of kids in school don’t have a license? I know in my day I got my license on my 16th birthday, but that doesn’t seem to be the case these days.

I hope they’re scrutinizing fishin’ licenses, too. Just to be sure.

If we have to give em a mug of warm milk, read a story and tuck them in, Kirby will see that it gets done. Beats thousands of dollars in BB damage.

Lots of stats about youth of today not getting driving licenses…they have no car, do not want one, nor the hassles of insurance etc…this is a trend amongst kids these days. The kids without licenses is at an all time high.

It’s not just kids apparently driving without a license has become popular with all ages. Here in the Sunshine State the newspapers are full of drivers who have been caught 4 or more times for driving without a license. Suspending someone license down here is a joke.

I guess that we can’t say Kirby Smart has lost control of the vehicle…yet.
