“I’ve never been more disrespected in my entire career than I have been at Baylor.”

Et tu, Herbstreit?

Those people are monsters.

Could Herby be embellishing the truth a bit here in the wake of this report on Baylor? Maybe they did give him some grief but what does he expect? Of course he could never pass on a chance to pile on. I wonder how Finebaum can ever show up on any campus other than Bama.

Dang Herbie, take it in stride.

You can learn a few things from
    Coach Corso.

Too bad he didn’t play for Urbz. I’ve always thought they deserved each other.

Hooting and hollering? Feeding off his energy. Hey, you ungodly, filthy animals! Give Herbstreit back his respect-energy! I wasn’t pleased about the rape situation, but disrespecting Herbstreit, well, that’s beyond the pale. They should pay for his hair product the next five years.

Once again Herbstreit is being completely unfair…he hasn’t given us a chance to disrespect him more.

A bit of narcissism on display from Herbie. He’s taking a very serious situation involving sexual abuse of women over quite a few years, in which the HC was just fired, and he’s interjecting himself into the matter by relaying an incident in which he felt disrespected (which isn’t germane to anything whatsoever), and thus making it about him of some degree. Oh, the ‘most disrespected I’ve been in my entire career’ was just a bit too much drama IMO.

This is like arriving home to find that your house has been burglarized, and as you’re assessing the damage in utter shock and anger, your neighbor comes over and immediately starts complaining about the curt HOA letter they received in the mail (which they found totally disrespectful). They then turnaround and leave…and promptly take your newspaper from your driveway while singing ‘Satisfaction’ by the Stones as they walk back to their house.

He completely disrespected our 2007 football team.

What respect does he really command? He’s an entertainer on a soft core feel good sports channel. He’s one of 100 color commentators on tv for football games. His power and influence is limited to a lot of college aged boys and most women interested in the sport. Myself and anyone I know wouldn’t look twice if we were riding the same elevator up to our hotel rooms. He’s just another guy, and a douche bag at that…

Chickenshit wouldn’t speak up when it happened. Interviewer should have asked where else he’s been disrespected or if he would like to withhold until political karma points were up for grabs.

If that is the worst thing to happen to his super sensitive dipstick butt then he should consider himself lucky.

What did he expect? Was the team and coaches supposed to be happy he disrespected the team by picking a rival over them. What a pansy.

Totally agree. My favorite part of that game day experience was watching him pout like a spoiled baby…and watching the sugar bowl in my hotel room…and then the crazy New Year’s Eve party I stumbled upon in Orlando. Well maybe not in that exact order.

This coming from a guy that works at a network that, IMO, has completely destroyed amateur sports. Say what you will, but the attention and adulation from the ESPNs of the world have given athletes a since of entitlement at some schools. I guess it’s the world we live in but the need to be infamous and the public social channels exposed to kids these days only inflames the “see me” attitude.

Damn, I’ve never really been that offended by Herbstreit. I’ve got to wonder, are there any other college sports commentators you guys like less than Herbie? Personally, I find Corso more annoying than Herbstreit.

For me, Herbie has become a pompous ass. Chris Fowler is another in the same line. And I won’t watch anything Fox Sports that has to do with CFB.

I like Uncle Verne and Gary, Brad Nessler and Blackledge (the two best teams in CFB, in my opinion). Tesitore is okay, but can get sort of pissy. Jesse Palmer is just unintentionally funny to me, same with Pollack.

I like Blackledge, too. Verne was good but I think he’s lost a few steps. Should have retired a couple of years ago. Gary Danielson seems too anti SEC for my tastes.

Generally most college announcers don’t bother me too much, but some of the pros I find irritating as hell including Theisman, Dierdorf, Madden, and particularly Matt Millen. One if my favorite announcers today is John McEnroe, whom I loathed as a player, but, of course, he’s just tennis.
