Beer, with a twist

Per SB Nation’s Ohio State website, “After an evidently successful pilot program selling beer on only the suite level of Ohio Stadium, Ohio State stadium operations and athletics announced Wednesday that beer would be available stadium wide at fall football games during the 2016 season.”

Here’s the neat trick.

One can only imagine Jimmy Williamson’s reaction if they ever tried that in Sanford Stadium.

Too bad we lost our opportunity to ruin that for them. Put about 15000 dawg fans in that place and we could turn it into something like ten cent beer night at Cleveland municipal stadium in ’74.

  2. John Denver is full of shit...

$30k x 2 people/employee = a whole hell of a lot of caysh laying around for $6 beers x 20,000 people ordering 2 beers = $240,000 in sales on one home game and that is on the low end considering the size of the stadium and the boredom of those in the Midwest.

Yes, and that is only one game’s sales. Multiply that by 6 home games, and you can double, even triple your cost per employee (which is low when you figure in benefits, FICA, etc.) and still come out smelling like a rose fiscally and looking like a responsible athletic department all at the same time.

Kind of a self limiting function?

Jimmy would want an officer for every gate with a breath-a-lizer each for all the PUIs he could write.

So maybe 1-2% is going to fund some police?

Trickle down economics at it’s finest!

I guess they couldn’t say they were selling beer for the little children, so they say they are selling beer to provide police protection for the fans. Certainly not selling it for for the money hungry athletic department.
