I keep telling ‘ya, the cherry on top of the Chubb hype sundae is inclusion on one of Phil Steele’s preseason All-SEC teams. It’s almost a thing now.
Any thoughts on where Nick shows up? I’m leaning third-team right now.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Still not buying the hype. Not trying to be pessimistic, just realistic.

Maybe it’s not so unrealistic, and maybe you have suggested this. If Chubb is eased in and only gets a few token carries the first 4 games, he could do enough in the last 8 games to be all conference.

I would like to see him held back….until the UT game….

I really want more, Ewe Tee really needs to see the real NC27, some of their fans tell me that they would have won any way last year had Nick not been hurt. Delusional IYAM.

I do not expect Chubb to see the field until week 5 or 6. I find it very hard to believe that anyone is capable of overcoming that type of injury in less than a year. If Chubb returns at all this season, I do not expect him to look anything like his former self. All-SEC? Sadly, not even close.

Do you ever post anything positive about Georgia football? I’m not convinced he’s going to be back full speed, but if there’s a guy who could, I would put my money on Nick Chubb or Todd Gurley.

As I said before and I will say again, Chubb will have carries in the UNC game but it will solely be a North to South run between tackles to keep the defense honest. He will be ask to avoid cuts for a while and will get a game to game reevaluation.

How you gonna’ put Chubb in a game and “ask him to avoid cuts?” If that’s the case he’s not ready and should stay on the sideline.

Reminds me of a ski trip I took some years back, in which a friend had a knee that would giving him problems before the trip (but never got it looked at). He was dying to ski and convinced himself that, as long as he stuck to the greens and blues, he’d be fine and would see the doctor after our return. Literally on his third run, he just falls over with your classic ACL tear symptoms which ended up being verified the next day.

If Chubb can’t cut, he’s pretty much Brendan Douglas.
