Say it ain’t so, Todd.

This is what’s wrong with capitalism.  I mean, say what you want about the tenets of amateurism, Dude, at least it’s an ethos that wouldn’t let Todd Gurley anywhere near orange and blue.

  1. Even with TG3s endorsement I refuse to drink that stuff. No way any of my $$ go to help UF if I can help it. PowerAid is made by Coca Cola a state of Georgia company. Easy choice IMO.

I hate all Powerade, EXCEPT for the zero calorie blue stuff with the white label. It’s quite good. And beats all the “low calorie” Gatorade drinks.

The grape Powerade tastes like Grape koolaid. Even the zero cal stuff.

Ok, the. What’s Gatorade? Look, I’d take their money too but I will never buy or drink that stuff. Ever. When it’s above 90° and I need to work outside all day (for work, as in my job) I will drink about 6 powerades. The red, purple, and blue ones are just fine. Any other time fruit juices are refreshing, sweet tea, or a variety of sodas. I hate drinking plain water but that little squirt bottle of Powerade zero concentrate is pretty good too.

Crowell is a different story. I follow Gurley, Conley, and Marshall and I can’t recall a single “emotional rant.”

yeah i follow all those guys and i dont remember seeing anything emotional from any of them. Conley is always pretty guarded. Marshall has always been a struggle is real type of guy, but nothing emotional or ranty.

Gurley is about money…whatever he is promoting and building brand.

Fair. They have a lot of good reasons to be emotional about the state of relations. They are much more vested than I.

Meh. I have to learn to accept these things. My daughter is going to South Carolina this fall. There are, however, about $22,000 reasons to be happy she isn’t going to Georgia.

Can’t fault TGIII for the endorsement. Look, I’m a Dawg, and Coke over Pepsi guy any day BUT Gatorade is a better product. All that PowerAde on our sidelines is full of high fructose corn syrup whereas Gatorade is using real sugar. HFCG screws with our metabolism, kidney, and livers so I could make the case it puts the Dawgs at a competitive disadvantage. Rip me if you want, but go compare the labels.

That sugar is probably from Florida’s polluting cane fields and runoff that has polluted rivers flowing into Okeechobee. They have openly contributed millions to the present Gov (this year and it’s his last election so it isn’t for his campaign chest) and have high-jacked billions intended years ago to improve water quality in Fl.. Fl sugar is subsidized as well and costs well more than what sugar-producing countries can get and what you pay for it. And I have only covered this topically. The underbelly will make you ill if you see how Big Sugar and politics have been screwing up your
metabolism and that of your family.

So, take a look at that conundrum before putting that orange-colored/flavored shit in your mouths. To avoid it, I buy agave syrup and use it on everything in place of sugar. It isn’t any more healthful except to my soul and the perception of what I am contributing to in hidden crookedness and greed that impacts the water that I drink. Yep, there are water companies who sell “spring water” and if you look closely on some gallonage that I buy, it’s made by the water Dept of Miami.

Agave? This is why I buy Agave syrup.
One large orange, 2 limes squeezed int cocktail mixer.
        1 tablespoon Agave nectar/ syrup (1/3 shot)
2 oz (to taste, depends on score of Dawg’s game) Tequila

Shake well, pour over ice and serve. My favorite skinny margarita

[from July 2002 issue of Northwest Runner magazine]
While lots of research has been devoted to the different varieties of sugars used in sports drinks, there is no clear consensus on which sugar or combination of sugars is best. Some data suggest that glucose polymers such as maltodextrin are absorbed and used more quickly than plain old glucose (Moodley et al., European Journal of Applied Physiology 64: 328-34, 1992; Bowtell et al., Journal of Applied Physiology 88: 1529-36, 2000). On the whole, however, the evidence for polymers vis-a-vis glucose is quite mixed (Convertino et al., Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise 28: i-vii, 1996; Shi & Gisolfi, Sports Medicine 25: 157-72, 1998; El-Sayed et al., Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology 118A: 789-803, 1997; Maughan, Proceedings of the Nutrition Society 57: 15-23, 1998). There are also suggestions that drinks with multiple types of sugars may deliver sugar more quickly than drinks that contain glucose alone (Jeukendrup & Jentjens, Sports Medicine 29: 407-24, 2000; Maughan, Proceedings of the Nutrition Society 57: 15-23, 1998), but further research is needed to test this idea.

Here again, it’s a toss-up between Gatorade and Powerade. The Powerade polymers might offer some sort of edge, but, then again, maybe not.

Pop Warner football, Dekalb county mid 1970’s. Early season on a Saturday. August in Georgia hot (Can I get an Amen?) One of the parents brought us all a green Gatorade after practice, Ice cold in a glass bottle right out of the cooler. First time best time. That was good stuff for a 10 yr old football player, I’m telling you!
So I’m a Gatorade guy. Sue me. At EE, #Gatorseatboogers+1

I’m not a Gatorade fan and never was nor will be, but that is an inaccurate list of ingredients found in the original Gatorade. I know this because , in a class exercise in animal physiology at UGA, we came up with a recipe for resupply of electrolytes very close to what was later published of ingredients in the first “Gatorade”.

As you advertise, you are full of shit.

I didn’t claim it was the ingredients, i am however offering an alternative that does the same thing and better for you. vs the amount of sugar in a cheap mass produced drink served as a healthy option through men in white coats on the 1st gatorade commercial.

Four cubes of frozen spring water, 1 shot of Eagle Rare or Wild Turkey, one drop of either Power Ade, Gatorade or preferably spring water. Let set for thirty seconds while you find a place to sit and sip under a shade tree. Make sure you’re chair will lean back against the tree trunk for a nap. Make sure the tree is far enough away from the house that you can’t hear a call. If you have the old recording, ” Munson’s Greatest Calls”, you can listen to it.
