The Birmingham News surveys the SEC’s fourteen SIDs to get a list of the league’s best players.  Care to guess how many Georgia players made it?

But don’t we keep hearing that Richt didn’t leave the cupboard bare?! The lack of players on this preseason lists suggests otherwise

    • When there’s only one honoree per position? That article is typical al.com click bait.

Baloney. They have Fournette in there at least twice, maybe three times, and Fournette has said Chubb is better than him. It’s SIDs voting. It doesn’t matter much. Gives us the advantage of stealth.🙂

well, at least he didn’t try to blame Russian hackers instead of Richt.

        • Walt

From what I’ve read, the FBI thinks it was Russian hackers, but maybe that doesn’t fit with what you’ve watched.

          • 81Dog

thank goodness her WalMart home server setup was impregnable to the Russians, right?😉

          • the same FBI that thinks Hillary did nothing illegal?

            • Walt

It was very stupid for Hillary to have a private server, but apparently nothing she could be convicted for.

              • Turd Ferguson

“… but apparently nothing she could be convicted for.”

Key word there is “she.” Comey himself admitted that just about anyone else would have been convicted.

                • Not true. Comey said the exact opposite of that.

                  • 81Dog

ummmm, didn’t Comey say “no one should take this (ie, the failure to prosecute Hillary!) as a sign other people who do this in the future won’t be prosecuted for this kind of conduct”? That is a paraphrase, but it’s pretty close to what I recall hearing.

                    • Here’s what he said:

Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case. Prosecutors necessarily weigh a number of factors before bringing charges. There are obvious considerations, like the strength of the evidence, especially regarding intent. Responsible decisions also consider the context of a person’s actions, and how similar situations have been handled in the past.

In looking back at our investigations into mishandling or removal of classified information, we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts. All the cases prosecuted involved some combination of: clearly intentional and willful mishandling of classified information; or vast quantities of materials exposed in such a way as to support an inference of intentional misconduct; or indications of disloyalty to the United States; or efforts to obstruct justice. We do not see those things here.

                      He added one qualification:

To be clear, this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences. To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions. But that is not what we are deciding now.

I don’t read what you’re hearing from that.

And I wish you people would quit making me defend Hilary Clinton’s conduct.😉

                    • 81Dog

your choice to defend the indefensible is purely your own, your Holiness.😉

It should be no surprise that the team that has Dominated Recruiting and national championships has taken the majority of spots. With the exception of Fournette taking 3 other spots there were only 3 other teams on that list.

Considering we had poor QB Play last year, lost our kicker to graduation, and our best back was injured last year. Who else did you expect UGA to put on the list? WR’s who can’t catch what isn’t thrown? Players transitioning into a starting role? Injured players returning?

So Alabama has pretty much the best of everything except Leonard Fournette? And the source is the Birmingham paper? I’m not going to get the vapors about this. It’s not like the list is peppered with Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, Missouri, Vandy or UK players, either. I’d say we can hold off on cancelling the season for now.

Spoiler alert: If anyone at the Birmingham paper had any idea who Alabama’s best RB was, he’d probably be on the list, too.

    • It’s not the paper’s vote. It’s conference SIDs voting.

      • 81Dog

quit picking at my carefully crafted snark with facts, willya? Although I would suggest the SIDs are about as likely to genuflect as the paper, maybe they just wanted to place the monkey on Alabama’s backs. Either way, still a poor job of reading comprehension by yours truly.

The Vapors. A one hit wonder blast from the past. 1980 I believe.

Nice safe votes from PR people.

  4. Speaking of great QBs, it looks like Treon Harris has announced he’s leaving UF. Does that mean he’s disqualified from the WLOCP HoF?

  5. GATA

they totally whiffed on vandy, uk, state, scar, and mizzou players
