Today’s Dawg porn is the best Dawg porn.

Via Ed Aschoff:

And, if you put your ear real close to the ground, you’ll hear rumors that Chubb was squatting near 600 pounds before fall camp. That might be more than Smart and his coaches want, but my goodness, that’s a lot for someone standing on two perfectly good legs.  [Emphasis added.]

My goodness, indeed.

My knees hurt just reading that.

I did around 120lbs yesterday and was feeling very nervous. Jeeez…

They added a smith machine at the gym at work and I could barely walk for a week after I added squats to my circuit.

and no it wasnt even close to 600#

At 315 my back hurts worse than my knees so no more of that heavy stuff for my 45 yr old back, well that was 2 yrs ago but still.

        • The Dawg abides

I’m right there with you. When I started working out again, I promised my 47 yr old back and arthritic knee absolutely no squats, cleans, or deadlifts. It’s strictly Nautilus machines, dumbbells, and cable machines for me.

I’m right there with ya, man. I squat 165lbs (2 sets of 5 reps) three days a week and that’s my limit. My 5’10” 160lbs frame and sad chicken legs with weak knees can’t take any more.

“We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better than he was. Better, stronger, faster.”

Mr Goldman. Glad you’re still around.

Born in 70. Loved this show as a youngster. Probably actually sucks, but I’ll stick with the memories.

If you put your ear real close to the ground you can also hear Nick Chubb dragging his giant balls around. I am starting to buy into the hype, which concerns me.

That is the kind of work ethic that pushes everyone else. It really is contagious when someone is quiet and humble and works their ass off. Then you see that manifest itself on the field and the humbleness never falters. Even when they score on amazing runs. Those guys get mad respect from the players around them. You cant help but admire it. I hope he kills it this year not just because he is a Dawg but because of all the other things he brings to the table. That kid is an inspiration even to old farts like me.

You gotta trust the knee if you attempt to squat 600 pounds.

    • That’s what I thought when I saw that.

    • Atticus

You would think so, but dead lifting a knee is much different than hard cuts while getting hit—given the complexity of his injury. But I agree it can only be a positive.

      • Granthams replacement

If the rehabbed knee can handle 300 lbs in a parallel squat position its strong enough to handle hard cuts with tacklers.

        • Will (The Other One)

I’m hopefully our S&C staff is not letting anyone do half-assed “only go to parallel” squats that are worse for the knees than below parallel.

Chuck Mangino is not impressed. Every time he sits down it’s a 600 lb squat.

  8. PTC DAWG

Dude is a workout freak..it translate well to the field in his case. GATA

  9. Charles

    That’s just raunchy.

  10. DawgByte

Don’t tell anyone, but Chubb was rebuilt at West World.

  13. stoopnagle

Nick Chubb carries Jules Winnfield’s wallet.

  14. All my bones will be crushed with 600 lbs.
