Mel Tucker wants it all.

Kirby lifted the cone of silence off the heads of his coordinators yesterday.  Mel Tucker was pretty bland, but you can’t say he doesn’t expect much from his defense.

“Our foundation is going to be in the best condition, to play with technique and fundamentals, play smart, play fast, play physical and just overall, a brand of relentless defense and relentless football — high velocity, non-stop. We want to stop the run, and we want to affect the quarterback with rush and coverage. We want to force takeaways, we want to be great in special situations and make people go a long our way and don’t give up big plays. In a nutshell, that’s what we’re trying to do.”

That’s quite a nutshell you got there, brother.

I wonder what we will be defensively? I’d like to think that there is only a very little change in scheme from Pruitt to Tucker (err…Tucker/Smart). I’d like to think that we continue on the path that we have begun…But I don’t know.

What I do know is, is if we have a good defense then it will give our offers time to work out the kinks.

    I hope. I hope. I hope.

Ready for it to get here anyway. Going to make my first trip to Missouri. Looking forward to it.

Mel went on to say: You are gonna be so damn proud of the Dawgs. We are going to win so much. We’re not gonna to lose anymore. And we’re gonna make great plays. You won’t believe how many great plays we make. You’re gonna ask, How do we keep making such great plays? We are going to make our Dawgs great again. I know the sec. I’ve made a lot of money in the sec. I understand the sec mind. And we are going to bring back your coal industry, your steel industry. We’re bringing it back. Remember that, we’re bringing it back, folks.

I don’t get the coal and steel industry stuff, but he was on a roll…

I think his daughter is the better coordinator, but love his ” #Auburn sad” tweets.

Are you a ventriloquist as well? That would help when you consider those ultra-close people you usually have beside you who call people and speak for you, but can’t get away with it over the phone anymore. Btw, how have they been doing what with you leaving them out there in your real estate world just twisting in the wind and waiting to speak for you again? Think you can bring’um in to help make telephone calls for the win?

And, if amongt us, bluster out “How ’bout them Dawgs?” for us one time while you reminisce with VD. Somehow it seems fitting for the occasion, except your audience isn’t of the ignorant class here and you can’t “RAH! RAH!” yourself into the Georgia Way. You gotta’ earn it and the jury is usually out until Oct 31, but this year we will shade it to Nov 10, if you’d rather.

    High-velocity, non-stop defense?

    That’s some good stuff there.
