But you can deduct the appeal cost on your taxes, surely. We just love to penalize achievers in this country to pay for the folks who don’t wish to participate, How can we be surprised by this? Olympic Committee and US government, two groups determined to fly the plane into the ground.

Well duh, successful people can’t be allowed to be overly successful. They have to pay their fair share so all the unmotivated folks can get by. After a while, the folks that get free money rely on it, then they can just claim that it’s unfair if they are forced to do anything to earn it.
