Denial in a baseball cap

Oy, dude.

Remind me why you got your ass fired, again.

I’ll say it again: he will never be a head coach again.

  2. Borodawg

Never. That’s an awfully long time.

  3. BulldogGemes

I don’t know anyone that can truthfully make that statement

    Bobby Petrino come to mind?

    • Dolly Llama

And Petrino is still coaching, competitively. Yeah, Briles is Petrino 2.0. Briles will land somewhere and probably do reasonably well, just as Petrino has.

Briles to Auburn in 2017 after Gus Malzahn gets fired. Second chances for everyone!

I tend to agree with Billy.

Petrino was a personal failing. He made very public gestures of contrition. Yes, it was mostly for show, but adultery is something people can forgive if you make the right noises.

Briles’ actions were more callous and calculated. They were repeated. He’s being belligerent rather than contrite.

An AD would be putting his job on the line to hire him and exposing his or her program to a firestorm of bad press and negative recruiting. And what he left behind in Baylor is going to smolder awhile.

  7. terrible analogy

Art’s dog impregnated the neighbor’s poodle and he got his vet to say the mangy stray is to blame.

  8. Cousin Eddie

Technically he is correct, he just turned a blind eye and allowed others to do it with no consequences or repercussions.

If he keeps saying it enough the news media will believe him and start calling for him to be re-hired.

  9. Hogbody Spradlin

And he’s never done anything fattening either.

If I was an AD, I would not touch this guy with a 10 foot pole.

  11. Bright Idea

I won’t say never but its gonna’ at least be until the next nationwide college campus moral failing epidemic occurs before this one is forgotten. Briles will likely have company before then too.

He’s lucky all he lost is his job.

    All in.

He’ll fit right in on the Plains.

He’ll be coaching the Ti-gles at the Barn soon enough. They may even hire him after they start 0-4 at home in September. 2nd Chance U!…He’ll do way better at the Barn. They have had years of experience perfecting the cheating craft. They’ll make sure to show him the ropes.
