“…the tune that is near and dear to the hearts of many will be replaced by something “more inclusive for all fans”…”. The mind boggles at the possibilities.

Great stuff this morning, Senator. The rivalries article is a great one, and a sad one. And Ole Miss thinks they have “the best home field advantage in college football”? Ole Miss? Tunsil’s seller must supply the whole athletic department.

  3. Every time I read an article about the death of rivalries a little part of my passion for college football beyond Georgia dies. I miss OU-Nebraska, Texas-TAMU, UGA-Clemson, and UF-Miami to name a few. The day the SEC eliminates the cross-division permanent opponent to appease everyone but UGA, Bama, AU, and UT is likely the day I decide I’ve had enough.

“Judge” Ken Starr? When did that title get associated with the hypocrite of the century? Are they ripping off Judge Dredd?

Or is that a new title he’s getting to prosecute Trump’s lies? That would result in an honorary title and a lifetime of work, but somehow “Judge” doesn’t seem to fit when you consider his shortcomings of judging anyone except his peers and the biggest peer he has is Trump.

If you object to the entire class of judges, I’m right with you. But he has as much right to the title as anyone.

“I don’t understand what the fuss was about” would be a good qualifying statement from Starr upon his leaving. He could finish by saying, “You would think that people couldn’t have gotten more upset than if you were filmed beating your dog.”. Welp.

If Sankey turns out to be a carpetbagger and allows UGA/Auburn and Bama/UT to be scrapped it will indeed be a sad day. I can’t imagine playing Mizzou every year but not Auburn without even changing conferences.

    • If the WWL tells him to do it, he will do it in the bat of an eye and will have the ADs smiling as they deposit the check. That’s all these guys understand now … Cold, hard cash.

$live botched expansion and left $ankey holding the bag. Missouri was a terrible fit culturally (sorry, Bill Connelly), and the jury is still out on Texas A&M, but the SEC got those eyeballs and the money. That’s all that matters.

Maybe we can add Kansas to make Mizzou happy….agree with your reasoning totally…dropping AU would suck….let me add, do we ever play A&M? Didn’t they join the SEC some time back?

Esp. since you can almost stand at the top of Stone Mountain and see both campuses (UGA an AU) I can’t get excited about Mizzry…I’ve tried but it just doesn’t seem like an SEC game.

  7. Ken Starr can resume his crusade on the Clinton’s. It’s Hillary turn, LOL.

  8. If I’m an OC, luckily I’m just a fan, I will soften the UNC defense with Douglas and Holyfield early, then let Chubb run amok later in the 3rd and 4th quarter.

  9. SEC expansion to the East to include Virginia Tech/VA and North Carolina/NCS can be huge to the league’s treasury in the long run.

    • I like your thinking, but the new ACC package makes it prohibitively expensive for any member to leave now. The only expansion that will happen now will occur with the collapse of the Big XII.
