You can’t tell the players without a scorecard.

You’d figure the least a guy making $9 million a year could do would be to keep his commitments’ names straight.

Think we would get him anyway, but that’s good that it happened.

    • When momma likes you, you have to like your chances.

You think this’ll get a little negative play on the recruiting trail?

      • Especially from one guy who is one state south and only takes the top 1% of the top 1% …

Michigan fans already are saying that the whole letter thing is a ‘pretext’ because he was going to flip anyway.

Funny…if Harbaugh fires a support person, he plays into it. If he doesn’t, he leaves someone who screwed this up in a position to do it again. Methinks we should see which staff member is running the steps at the Big House at 5AM for the next 5 weeks to get the scoop.

Seems to me it would take an ego of maniacal proportions to sign up for football at Michigan, Ohio state, or Alabama. There are plenty out there but I’d bet that most grounded “normal” people are more comfortable at the schools that round out the top 15 programs.

We lost a kid TO Michigan in the late ’80s because we spelled his name wrong on some mail. Regression to the mean for the win!

Any kid that would choose Michigan over a school in the south isn’t thinking straight, or never took his visits.

Have to disagree with you there…Ann Arbor is a great college town and UM is a really fine school. I can think of several schools in the South (most of them with Orange in their school colors) that don’t hold a candle to Michigan. Although there is an argument of whether even a cow pasture like Auburn is better than having to face the winter in the Midwest.

Having said that, if a kid chose Ann Arbor over Athens, he’s obviously got a screw loose. 🙂

  5. I can’t decide which part of this intrigues and amazes me more. 1) That a recruiting “juggernaut” like Michigan could screw up something so badly (tongue firmly in cheek). I’m sure there’s a staffer (or two) looking for job openings today. 2) That this happens the week after a $9 million salary is discussed in the media. 3) The gigantic egos of high school football players. That said, I watched this kid play in the Corky Kell game at Mercer against Jones County last week. He’s’ a beast. I do hope Kirby and momma are successful in their recruiting goals. It was very concerning that of the four stud athletes on Lee County’s team, all are (ok, were) committed to LSU and Michigan.
