Uncle Verne may not want one, but I suspect he’s gonna get one.
What would be great would be for CBS to round up every player who’s ever been the object of a Verne crush and get them to offer up a tribute to the man during the SECCG. You know, for old times’ sake. Make it happen, fellas.
He doesn’t want a victory lap. Sorry, Uncle Verne, but the SEC’s fan base will have something to say about that. I imagine the tribute in Athens will include a clip of some Soulja Boy dancing on the Jumbotron.

Did you know that David Greene and David Pollack played PeeWee football together?

Yes. And I want to hear him say that one last time.

I love Uncle Verne. I’m also looking forward to the current best in the business, Brad Nessler, take over. Now, for getting Gary Danielson out of the booth and Todd Blackledge back …

Will miss ol’ Verne’s voice, but it’s time. He deserves a great sendoff. Really hope to be hearing him as part of the Masters’ broadcast for years to come. Nessler will be good. If I had my pick, Blackledge would be his sidekick, but I’m ok with Danielson. Like him or not, the guy knows football.

Yes. I wish Ga had hired him to take over for Larry (no one can replace him) but he was probably still too radioactive from his ESPN firing.

That’s cool. Can we just go ahead and let Nessler take over now, then?
