Finally. Humble pie will be served Sat evening.

For some reason I keep forgetting to thank you and the partners for going to the trouble to create a little fun for us all during the season. That accolade is expressed every week we pick and see the resultant expressed in stats that took a great deal of time and expertise to set up.

      Sincere thanks to you all.

First year doing this. Only reason I’ve stayed away is life is awfully busy these days, but I’m going to give it a shot. Not sure how good the output will be, so don’t judge too harshly.

We are harder on ourselves than we would dream of being with each other. What makes it even more fun is beating the shit out of the ESPN prognosticators. Btw, Herbie already picked NC so that’s an early gift in their losing bin.

And if you can’t take going from 9-1 in your picks to 1-9 the next week, you may as well not play. That’s the way the spread can treat you.

Have fun and don’t take things too seriously. This is a fun addendum to this blog.

Yeah, withs he group we have in the comments section here at GTP, I didn’t doubt it would be a friendly environment, but that’s great to hear. I can handle being wrong for sure! I’d expect I’ll be able to make more informed decisions on SEC picks.. which isn’t to say I’ll be a good picker. In some cases, I may just throw out some uniformed guesses. I always said if I was going to do it, I’d want to so it right and research it, but I don’t really have time to get too in depth on teams I’m not that familiar with, but I’m hoping just to have fun with it and maybe relish the occasional (singular) great week. Thanks Cojones.

Thanks for the reminder, I’m in.

For me, the best reason to participate is the constant reminder that betting on football is a really bad idea.

    • Absolutely this – I’m out in Vegas for a few days in November. Thank goodness it’s the week after the WLOCP, so I can’t place a foolish bet with my heart rather than my head.

I’ll probably bet a $20 parlay on 5 or 6 games and see what happens. It will make the next Saturday a little more fun.

      Excellent point.

That is my co conclusion each week as well.

You will do better than anyone. Just don’t drop out since your name will be associated as a quitter ( just kiddin’ ). Luck sometimes separates the “A”s from the “C”s during any given week; separates the 9-1 from the 6-4 score; separates the greatest Oracle from the Snakebit; separates the guesser from the informed, but most times the separation isn’t in the direction you would figure.

Have fun, but whatever you do, don’t follow the person who is the biggest blowhard here because the winning teams don’t usually follow that opinion.
