The drama now revolves around the tailbacks behind Chubb. Fellow junior Sony Michel remains a game-time decision with his arm injury. Freshman Elijah Holyfield is day-to-day with an ankle he sprained over a week ago.
“He’s still gimpy on the ankle, but we’re gonna get all we can out of him,” Smart said.
Yep. Nick Chubb is now the rock that Georgia’s running backs are resting on.

Someone tell me why telling the world that Chubb is coming is different than announcing the starting qb? I’m thinking that they’re not even telling the QBs and the team until Satuday after lunch. I don’t think that the game is being played with UNC. I think the game is being played with Jacob Eason. The less time he has to think about it, the better.

or maybe Kirby plans on using Michel AND Holyfield, and wants UNC to spend time game planning Chubb, and not the other two, who have different skill sets, and not so much time game planning whoever our QB is going to be (which, let’s face it, is Eason, right?)
Maybe Kirby is going to start Eason and Lambert in the A-11 offense, and doesn’t want to tip his hand to UNC. Maybe Ramsey is going to run the single wing. At some point, all the pregame pregamesmanship is going to be over, and it will mostly come down to whether our guys can impose their will on their guys, or vice versa.
Have to admit, the whole Art of War approach is entertaining. All warfare is based on deception, according to Sun Tzu, so if there appears to be great disorder in UGA’s depth chart, the situation is excellent.

I’m an optimistic person by nature, but I’m predicting a loss this weekend…something to the tune of 27-23. UNC is a solid team that is returning 16 starters from last year; meanwhile we are breaking in all new coaches, including one who is coaching his first game, and a freshman qb. Not good.
We will struggle a bit earlier in the year, but by the tail end of the season we will be a far better team that would beat this UNC team quite easily.

3rd there was a good article on this blog several days ago about the returning starters for UNC were NOT the productive ones…..meaning the few starters they lost were the ones who scored and made tackles,so returning starters stat is a little misleading. I predict 2 or less turnovers we win…..4 or more turnovers we lose….. 3 TO’s and I have no idea.

If we were to curb stomp UNC Saturday do you think anyone would give us half a shot at winning the east? I know that is a big if but it appears they should go ahead and give UT the east and have UF as the backup. We appear to be their speed bump. I guess we should go ahead and play the games and see what happens. Geez

I see the hype around UT but their schedule knock them out of being the front runner. A month in a we will know much better. If thing go well the WLOCP will be the SEC East championship game, even if UT snaps their streak against UF. UGA getting UT the week after they play UF shapes up nicely for UGA. I can see UT beating UF but falling to UGA and Bama.

NC has already game planned for all contingencies, especially Chubb returning. It’s been called the worst kept secret in the press over the past week. There was no point in hiding that which has already been seen. We’ll still kick their @$$.
