If you’re Mark Bradley, it’s not too early to start setting up Kirby Smart.

You gotta love this Trump-esque conclusion about Georgia’s 2016 expectations:

Back to Georgia: Even with a new coach, this cannot be seen as a classic Rebuilding Season. There’s too much talent on hand, and the schedule is too inviting. Maybe that’s why Kirby Smart seems wrapped extra tight — if he doesn’t break double figures in Year 1, it will be viewed in some circles (Las Vegas included) as a disappointment.

Mind you, Bradley’s not saying he’d be disappointed (although he’s picking Georgia to win 10 games in the regular season), just that “some circles” would be disappointed.

Maybe one day Bradley will concede that Smart’s almost as good a head coach as the genius… er, sorry… meant to say he’ll note in some circles that’s the perception.

If by some circles, he means the online AJC Trolls that comment on his posts, but call themselves UGA fans.. he’s probably right, they’ll be disappointed. If we beat GT this year, Bradley will find a way to say that the genius is still the superior coach and GT the better team.

Well, we may not win 10 games, but at least we didn’t have to go play on another continent because of a scheduling conflict with “Dragoncon”.

“Some would say” has been journalism’s hardy perennial for generations. Translation: I have no provable foundation for this speculation but it’ll drive clicks, circulation, and profits.

Click-baiting strawmen are a fairly recent phenomenon, but politicians have been using them since the beginning of time.

Trump is a political neophyte, but he is learning…

Bradley and Schultz shouldnt have a job. They are tabloid writers, and do nothing but stir the pot. They cant handle anyone who is critical which is why they blocked me from even seeing t hem on twitter. I said nothing other than what i said above and their little thin skinned liberal hearts couldnt take it. Bradley is an ASS and Schultz is a WIMP. If i were Kirby, id ban them both from ever seeing a single second of anything to do with the program.

Vegas has us at over/under 8.5 wins. What the hell is he talking about?

Blutarsky, perhaps you can enlighten us as to how Bradley’s conclusion is “Trump-esque”? I thought it was kind of “Huma-esque” or maybe even “Weiner-esque”!

They do not get more “Crooked Hillary” than that bunch.
The South’s most anti-male newspaper and the South’s most liberal, socialist newspaper rag.
I give them about at much attention as I do CCN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, and NBC. Getting a job there is easy. Just show them your card carrying “I am a liberal, socialist Democrat”.
At the rate that party tax and spends it is a miracle any male has money for beer and tickets!

I don’t care much what Bradley thinks. It’s all about the clicks for him anyway. Senator, I do appreciate your summarizing him from time to time so I know what he’s up to without having to click on his column. We don’t want to encourage him.

I like the part where he says “Kriby is wrapped tight.” the assumption that he is scared and worried. I do not get that impression at all. Of course I’m not as smart as he since I don’t think man boobs is a genius.

Kirby was particularly ornery about a dumbass Chip Towers question in the presser the other day, and Bradley keeps going back to that to prove that Kirby is a Bad Person.

It’s here where I note that Bradley has me blocked on Twitter for once asking how much exactly he got paid to sit around and hot take all day, especially considering that I had friends who were laid off from the AJC in a round of budget cuts.

If you just read the words Bradley wrote, it’s hard to find any reason to disagree with them. If KS rings up a 7 win season, a lot of UGA fans are going to be unhappy, I would bet. If he wins 10, a lot of UGA fans will probably grumble about the 2 he lost. If he wins 12, but doesn’t win the SEC, a lot of people will grumble about that. Goes with the territory.

I can’t speak to Bradley’s motivation for saying he thinks UGA isn’t a total rebuild job, and that it should be pretty good this year, but even if you assume he has bad motives in saying it. or doesn’t really want it to happen, it doesn’t make it any less accurate an assessment of where we are at the moment.

Or are we just afraid of the bright lights? I would imagine Kirby isn’t, which I would consider a plus for him. I suspect HE expects us to win at least 10. Why else would he be here if he didn’t have high expectations?

Just say that UGA fans will grumble regardless, and usually for the wrong reason. While grumbling, Kirby will get few legit complaints with a 9 or 10 season in 2016. Some legit complaints with 8 wins, but not awful. A lot of grumbling and heat for a 7 win season with the schedule and the talent.

He picked us to win 10, so I think he’s in his “some circles.”

Bradley’s opinions are mostly a side show, but I don’t have that big of a problem tolerating him. He does help represent a non-UGA yet still GA perspective on the Dawgs. He’s also right that “some circles” would be disappointed. I don’t think those circles are the Richt lovers either but merely the UGA fan base that knows this team still has raw talent that exceeds most of its currently scheduled opponents.

‘Some fans’ think Bradley has no talent and his newspaper sucks. Therefore it must be acknowledged as having a strong ring of truth.
