Shit, I can’t believe I forgot there’s a special reunion on the Plains this week.
Like I said, special.

Trooper reminds me of a sales guy I used to work with years ago who desperately wanted to climb the corporate ladder and become a sales manager/VP, etc. Problem was, though his sales performance was actually fairly decent, he acted like a total goofball a lot and didn’t dress professionally. While others were wearing a nice shirt and slacks, he would wear untucked button up shirts and jeans to meetings or, even worse, the dreaded golf shirt with jeans. And after meetings he was the first one to beeline it to the bar, where he could be found progressively getting louder and louder as the night went on.
Sure, he was a likable enough guy, but nobody took him seriously, which he never realized and never figured out just how much it was hurting his career. Then again, the aforementioned sales guy never engaged in shady business practices, so perhaps I shouldn’t be comparing him to Trooper after all.

If he was such a great guy and coach why didn’t the Gus Bus hire him back? Maybe if he put his hat on correctly, tucked his shirttail in and acted like a grown up he would still be at the Barn.

That was a good article. He seems like a good guy with his priorities in place. What did he do to UGA?

Aside from being involved in steering money over the years to recruits that UGA was actively recruiting — including several key in-state UGA leans at the time — and unabashedly celebrating Nick Fairley’s numerous dirty hits on Aaron Murray in the ’10 game (among other things)…nothing. Absolutely nothing at all.
