“And Georgia fans, don’t be turds. Enjoy this. Soak it up. It’s awesome. If you don’t win this year, it’s still not a failure. It’s a heck of a run. Back-to-back in the Playoff era hasn’t been done. So, to ask for a third I feel like it’s gluttonous. I feel like it’s not OK. But we’ll be in the mix.”-- David Pollack, On3.com, 5/9/23

I do love Kirby’s nastiness. We were more physical, had a better game plan and were more physical and mentally tough. That is just my two cents.

Between this and the game 1 episode of “Kirby smart all access” I watched this weekend it’s clear that a new emphasis on video production is going on in the new regime.

Although I agree, I am not sure it’s for the better. Call me old school, but I could do with a lot less Cluck Doodle, video montages and fluff pieces. I get that Kirby hasn’t got time for a play-by-play commentary like Vince used to do, but I would be okay if he sent one of his many staffers in to give a little “this is what we planned and this is why it worked/failed” analysis. Just my $0.02.

I loved that aspect of the old show–and it made other coaches’s shows interesting as well, when you came across them. Though sometimes, listening to Donnan was like if Boomhauer from King of the Hill was breaking down plays.

Georgia’s video production staff has been absolutely killing it the past two or three years, and they’re only getting better.

The Smart Regime seems way less interested in those really tacky, repetitive, melodramatic spoken word narrations that we had the last few years under Richt. If that’s the only positive change we see under Smart, then . . . well, I’ll be very upset. But for now, it’s quantifiable forward progress.

The Awaken the Nation video for LSU in 2013 was one of the best hype videos I’ve ever seen.

It should be noted that UGA didn’t make this in-house. A bunch of UGA journalism alums did it.

I totally disagree with that. They won awards for those videos. I hope we get more of those and less focused on the coach. Awaken the Nation was awesome. I hope they play it on Saturday but even more so when we face Tennessee.

They didn’t show it on TV, but I hope the players aren’t rocking the buses before the Dawg Walk anymore. Seems dangerous and I hope Smart leads us to a more dignified entrance. I really hated that about the Richt era and thought it was one of his biggest flaws that led to our horrible downfall into the depths of CFB hell for the past decade.

When I watched it early this morning, I thought it was really good. As others have said, our video production staff has been killing it over the last few years with their work.

Love what the video crew has been doing the past few years! This is just the latest quality installment.
