If Kirby’s master plan so far has been to befuddle every observer of Georgia football, judging by this Bill Connelly post, it’s been a raging success.
It’s really hard to figure out any lasting impression of Georgia so far. Heading into 2016, I was considering the Dawgs an SEC East co-favorite with Tennessee, and after they came back to beat UNC, I was further convinced of that. And then they almost lost to Nicholls. I thought a healthy Nick Chubb would be nearly unstoppable, and this was backed up by his 32-carry, 222-yard night against the Tar Heels; and then he carried 20 times for 80 yards against the Colonels.
Georgia was just not dialed in against Nicholls, and it’s skewing basically every impression I have. Regardless, Chubb is phenomenal. We’ll have to wait and see whether UGA’s struggles last week were because of a total lack of motivation or underlying inconsistencies.
Really, what more can you say at this point?

Does that include Lirby himself? I keed, I keed.
I personally am of the opinion the Nicholls was a fluke and we are going to be fine. We’ve obviously got some issues, but I believe they will work themselves out over time. There’s enough talent there to win the East. We just need to stop fucking around with the ORs and go win football games.

Watched a bit of Mizzou at WVU last night. They like to run at the edges. They go fast (-er than Clemson). They fling it deep with regularity. We better be able to run the ball the way we want because they are going to go right at our defense’s weaknesses.

The thing people forget is that they have been in camp and games now for 6 LONG weeks, and they were bound for a let down. That it all happened to the entire team at once and the other guy came in and played pretty well frankly, is ultimately a fluke game.
Or maybe not, and we stink?

I think what people are concerned about is how bad they looked.
Nicholls St is a really bad team. Far worse than your average group of 5 team that everyone seems to want to compare them to.
Like the senator noted, this was a historically bad game.

Chubb with 80 yards and 4 ypc. I lot of backs would consider that a pretty good day. The guy is so phenomenal with him it’s a bad bad day.

I think we all know that even advance stats fail to accurately measure UGA football.

UT and UGA are looking very similar at the moment close calls against lesser competition and wins against ACC teams that looked like they could be a loss. It will be interesting to see how the teams respond as the season progresses. UF is still my pick in the East.

I agree UF looks better than they have for years. If they beat UT again, the East is theirs, again. By the way the WLOCP may not be so much fun either.

We’ll all know this next 3 Saturdays if Kirby has the other half of the rabbit’s foot, and if against Tennessee he actually got the better half of the foot.
