Your weekly non-Dawg game day post

All football Saturdays are good.  This one’s a little gooder than average.

#11Wisconsin

#8Michigan State

12:00 PM

Sparty is only a 3.5-point favorite at home.  Not sure why.

#19Florida

#14Tennessee

3:30 PM

Meteor game alert!  I like the Gators to cover here, for two reasons:  one, I respect a streak and two, the Florida defense is by far the best unit on the field today.

Vanderbilt

Western Kentucky

4:30 PM

From the venue to the spread — Vanderbilt is an eight-point road dog to a mid-major — there is something really wrong about this game.

#18LSU

Auburn

6:00 PM

Hoo, boy, there are gonna be some tight sphincters at game time.

South Carolina

Kentucky

7:30 PM

This is the kind of game where each team’s fan base is pessimistic about their chances.

#7Stanford

UCLA

8:00 PM

Stanford is a slight favorite.

#17Arkansas

#10Texas A&M

9:00 PM

This game’s been a little under the radar this week, but should be a good one.  Nobody wants to lose in the West.

Feel free to toss in any other games of interest in the comments.

If I ever bet money, M state would be my “all in”. I honestly don’t know why they don’t get respect. All the media narratives are so tired and yet they won’t touch the white and green.

I’m stuck at a damn wedding in Northwest Georgia and won’t be able to see a damn down of football today. FML.

That’s just wrong, Dolly. People who get married on College Football Saturdays in the South need to get their priorities straight. Unless it’s your daughter or son, you need to pretend you’re sick or something.
If they wanted a late Sept. wedding that screws up a football game, they could have gotten hitched on Thursday evening when GT was playing.

    • I feel for ‘ya. I’m heading up to a wedding in Highlands this afternoon, so I only get to watch the first half of the game; from there, it’s Scott Howard on the road.

These brides and grooms seem to think it’s all about them. Sheesh!

Highlands, North Carolina? I lived and worked there for a couple of years. Should be fantastic this time of year. And a great place to put that little red roller skate of yours through its paces on the way there and back.

YOU DIDN’T QUIT LIKE THIS WHEN RICHT WAS OUR COACH!

Or if you prefer….you’ve shown no hope for this season, traveling to foreign countries (Texas) and now weddings when the Dawgs play. What next, a t-time at St. Simons during the WLOCP?!

Assuming it’s not yours, how is that possible? I watch from now until almost 2 tomorrow morning, and a ceremony is about 30 minutes even if you get stuck. We have TVs, tablets, phones, etc. and all with earbuds. Come on man!

There are worse places to be in the fall, so there’s that. And we joke about weddings during college ball season but honestly, it’s not all that funny. Why would anyone schedule something and have at least half the guests not want to be there right out of the gate? I find it rude and self centered.

Agree. And what is wrong with Fridays and Sundays anyway? It is borderline rude, and I figure they didn’t really want be there anyway if they use a fall Saturday. I just apply the saved travel expenses to a better gift, they benefit more than having a guest who feels trapped and always running to a place with a TV or checking the phone.

Our starting groom is so, so…..small, we are undersized compared to their bride’s maids, the ushers are…..oh my gawd the ushers ……we just don’t match up well to the bride’s half of the church……not enough parking and the way they guard that punch bowl….it’ll be a battle. It’s gonna be a tall one on the sidelines today Loran, whuta ya got? GO DAWGS!

THANK you, Senator, for this new feature. It was needed and is a great addition to the GTP World. Fine move!

    Fall weddings should be illegal.

I think Wisky gets exposed today. A&M/Arky looks like a battle, and so does Ok. State and Baylor. LSU/Auburn in the Hot Seat Bowl will be fun to watch, but might be painful with the lack of offense. FSU and USF could be more competitive than many think as USF fights to be a force in their state. Wish I could see Univ. of Washington play late tonight, Peterson has them in the conversation, but the commish totally blew the TV negotiations a few years ago

Many years ago my sister planned a wedding over a UGA game. We were sitting around discussing it and I told her “well i won’t be there” She looked at our Dad and said “can you believe that?” Dad replied “I won’t be there either”

Besides Dogs of course, looking forward to watching the Gus Bus continue to implode

Ok, I have two questions about the last play of the LSU v Auburn (cable went out here right after the barn’s last score).

    (1) Did they have a shot of the official game clock cut into one of the replays, or is the TV coverage clock now considered official?

    (2) Did anyone point out that the LSU QB was a yard past the line of scrimmage right in front of the Head Linesman when he threw the TD pass, and that it wasn’t called?

83 Dawg..and LSU had an ineligible receiver on that last play too as the tight end was covered up, and I also don’t think the outside receivers ever got set before the ball was snapped.. Bottom line is SEC officials are as bad as ever. That last play should have been blown dead before it ever started, as the game was over.
