This is how you talk to someone you don’t like or respect and you wish to make them angry but box them into a corner where if they come back at you with anything other than a friendly disposition, they are in a position of weakness. It’s a way to establish a path to submission.
The correct response is “go eff yourself, we’re gonna kick your ass”.

What it says to me is Butch is being set up for a huge fall after that win last week. If we were to win Saturday, considering how easy they all think it’s going to be, he’s no better off than he was at halftime last week.

Well need lots of help to pull of a win.What troubles me most about this season is clearly now we can see this roster does not have the talent level to play the type of football the coaching staff wants to. That does not mean we have no talent nor does it mean we should have been abused by an OM team like last week.. It does show the coaches are too stubborn to use the talent they have to achieve the best results . I
m hoping that changes this week. This is not a bash against the CKS he is a first year coach and we should expect he is learning lessons each week. Heres to hoping he is a quicker learner and the becomes the best coach in UGA history.LikeLike
I think everyone is treating this as if it’s robots that Kirby is sending out there. This is more than just talent. This is buy in. One guy who supposedly has “inside info” and a few UGA beat writers has vouched for as having that info, says that the team has bought in yet. That they got a shock to the system when the practices after the NC win were perhaps even harder and more challenging than the previous ones. That’s not what they are used to. We also have to realize this is a freshman coach who is trying to figure out when to crack the whip and give a carrot.

Freshman coach doesn’t equal inexperienced. With the exception of Schuman, this is a veteran staff with plenty of nfl and cfb experience, including national championships. A hiccup here or there is acceptable for a ‘freshman’ coach. Dropping passes, missing blocks, etc. aren’t freshman mistakes.

As bad as we have looked, and as euphoric as TN fans are about their team this week, they have played 4 good quarters in four game, the 2nd halves of both Va Tech and FU, the remainder of the year has been shock at how bad they have played. BCF toys has UGA at almost a 40% chance of winning and that is higher than most “experts” would have put UGA at the beginning of the season. We owe them one, that “hail Mary” ending to the half last year in Knoxville saved them facing a six year losing streak going into this game. We need to burst their bubble, Sgt Carter deserves it for his inflammatory behavior this week trying to pump his guys up. Sleazy, very sleazy.

I think you’re right about Tennessee slipping into the habit of “turning it on” and doing just enough to win rather than executing for 60 minutes. That is going to bite them in the butt at some point. Combine that with some absurd fumble recovery luck. And maybe some extra back-patting at the expense of practice focus this week.

Agreed, Nate. I hope we start the beginning of a 3 game stretch that sends them back into reality. UGA-TAMU-Bama is about as tough as it gets for a SEC East team in a 3 game stretch this year. F the Vols.

That’s a surprisingly presumptuous attitude to put into writing. There is nothing that prevents me from believing that UGA is going to run all over UT. Have there been issues? Sure. I suspect a lot of that is Smart experimenting where he can. Did Ole Miss lay the wood to UGA? Sure. But that isn’t the first team they’ve done it to and won’t be the last this year. They were pounding SPUAT too. They uAt didn’t know how to win.
UT hasn’t done much of anything this year. It might be ugly, but I see a win for UGA.

The coaches need to use what they have in a way conducive to
winning now. They can still be building for the future.
They have the talent to win now. Good backs help average O Lines.
The passing attack, not play action, is also a key, So Is Coaching.
The Dawgs can & will score some points & possibly get the win.

Tennessee people know a thing or two about a program taking its first steps into the wilderness after canning a beloved longtime head coach.
I wouldn’t discount their judgment in this case. In most areas, I would, but not here. They’ve been through this. Hell, they spent several of their wilderness years with a Saban disciple at the helm.
