The Gus Bus rolls into Starkville.  Will it roll out under its own power?

#25Virginia Tech

#1Alabama

#16Arkansas

7:00 PM

Bert tries to climb Mt. Saban again.

Look at Miami sitting there at #10.
    That could’ve been us. (Sigh)

Agitator! You should not taunt those who have such serious security issues.

Looks like Gus has not just invited, but pushed Mullen into his, previously, hot seat. I am not feeling good about the AU game….at all. Ugh. Another I was not worried about until Sept. 10. Blowout in Cowbell country.

Greatest coach to ever stand on the sidelines with his arms crossed looking like a statue in Coral Gables .

MacCallan – that was a joke.

As I recall the last time we played at scu we had 1st and goal at the 4 yard line late in the 4th quarter. AND had an RB named Todd Gurley (we also had Chubb & Michel). That’s about as close to a sure thing win as you’re going to get against sos (Sigh).

Always been one of the weakest hindsight arguments pf all those brought up regularly, but no way to prove anything by arguing. Play call was legit, just a very, very strange result so of course we all wish we had done something different. But the call was safe, and a nice variation on what everyone expected. Could not have turned out that badly if we tried it another 100 times (and the grounding was a bad call because it was technically tipped so it didn’t fir the criteria for grounding…even though Mason was indeep dumping it.)

There was that Tech game when we were on the goal line and couldn’t shove it in and Spaghetti arm passed us into a TD. Damn…kinda let’s the air outta of run the damn ball.

I have been made aware that this is a Georgia blog, but I just wonder…is it ok to pull for Miami against FSU? I mean will somebody come a-knockin on my door wanting my diploma back or something?

Since the South Carolina athletic brain trust hath wrought I got no game today, is it ok to be a Canes fan tonight? If I promise not to holler into a mike on a bus? 😀

If I promise not to let hollering for the Canes tonight dilute my Dawginess tomorrow? Can I, huh?

I was gonna cheer for the ‘Canes regardless of where/when the Georgia game was played, so I see no reason why you can’t.

The Miami game is the only one I’m planning on watching in its entirety today. And I’m definitely pulling for them against FL State.

Although, Jimbo’s team has looked so weak, I don’t think a Miami win tonight will prove Miami is for real. A loss will prove they are over-rated but a win might just be further proof that the Noles flat out stink this year.

If Miami wins tonight AND beats UNC next week then we’ll know.

      • Richt has been forged from the fires of the SEC. He has learned much and will do well. Kirby will have to go through the same first time coach experience– I hope faster and with a few new wrinkles learned from Saban. They both need to thank Butts Mehre for its confidence in giving the keys to a big time program to a first time head coach.

Lets hope Butts Mehre lucks out and found someone better for its program than Richt.

THIS IS NOT A MIAMI BLOG!!!

    Oh wait…..sorry about that. 🙂

I have to watch UT (the real one) vs OU for my Longhorn wife. Want to see the Aggies whip the fake UT. And the Miami game will be interesting. Bama gonna Bama.

I was thinking this was a Miami blog…

And yeah, UF made a calculated move, the SEC should fix it.

Aggies look real, should win by double digits today. I think Arkansas and Bama should be a good game to watch by being competitive. Bert may be an easy target to shoot at but he puts a pretty consistent product on the field. Miami has looked better than FSU except for the 2nd half of the Old Miss game but this is an old rivalry and both teams should be motivated.

Man, this NS St game looks messy. Glad we are not playing today.

    Got Pitt!
Always disliked Miami and the Noles so I’m rooting for the higher ranked team to lose.

There is very little in our film to cause them to feel otherwise. We may be better, think we are, but it isn’t by a wide-enough margin for us to feel there are any locks. Anyone remember a blowout by us this season? Gonna have to grind to win a low scoring game and move on to next week…which also looks to be competitive, unfortunately. We showed some signs of offensive light last week, let’s hope we can grow from that.

Jalon Hurd was injured against UGA last week and isn’t travelling with the rest of the Hillbillys. I thought the Dawgs got some pretty awesome and clean hits on him. Sorry about him being hurt but hoping the Aggies crush the Vols and Bootch gets a lot of questionable penalties called on his team.

Current laughable ESPN crawl: “LSU-UF postponed. SEC will attempt to re-schedule.”

Behind the scenes on a 3-way call:
Sankey: “Guys, how do we get this game in?”
    Foley: “Ain’t happening.”
Aleva: “I’m not taking any questions.”
    Sankey: “Oh.”

Future ESPN crawl: “The SEC office regrets that it will be impossible to reschedule the UF-LSU football game.

  15. How about that awesome Tom Herman everybody has been so enamored with? His #6 ranked team just lost to a military academy.

Exactly…and just how long has Herman been a head coach?

      “We could had a V-8”?

      Like

      • So your point is to cut the guy some slack because he has not been a head coach for that long? Got it.

No not at all. My point perhaps not sharp enough for is everyone was worked up to hire a coach with experience instead of Smart. Someone like Herman…who had exactly one season of HC experience.
Kinda silly the value of a,single year of HC experience. Just my thoughts. But hey, CMR won the SEC after the drought with just a year of experience so go figure. What will be funny is if Richt wins the ACC in his first year. Now thaz rich.

ACC has a better replay review set-up, judging from Miami’s TD pass just now.

So, FSU blocks the PAT to win the game, and half the team runs onto the field without their helmets, and no flags (other than off-setting). Yet we have a guy run to the back of the endzone during our game and those arbiters of the game make sure to flag him.

    • Russ, it’s the SEC … what else would you expect? I’m sick of SEC officiating. They are used to change the outcome of games. It’s the main reason I no longer have any conference loyalty unless a game has a positive impact on UGA.
