The over/under for today’s game is 42.5 points. Take the under, right?
I have a hard time seeing how Vanderbilt racks up a ton of points, barring a horrendous number of turnovers. Everyone this week has pointed to how well Vandy’s defense has played against conference opponents, but, still, they’re 0-3 in conference play. The reason for that is that they’ve averaged less than 10 points per game on offense in those three losses.
On the other hand, Georgia is averaging better than 25 ppg against SEC competition. Those averages are about how I see this game playing out. Georgia’s defense should be fine today, especially facing a dinged up Ralph Webb.
The big question is how Chaney schemes on offense. I expect to see more of the Tennessee game plan than the one we watched last week, spreading the defense out to keep Mason from loading the box. It’s still going to be an interesting day to see how Eason copes with a defensive coordinator who’s one of the best at mixing up coverage looks.
As always, offer a silent prayer that there’s nothing about Georgia’s special teams play that draws attention.

If we play a good field position game, we win a game that’s not as close as the final score looks. Of course, that means good 3rd down defense, managing turnovers, and special teams. Your 25-10 sounds about right to me.

It’s certainly important to win this game..but to win it convincingly and look like a team that is ready to take on Florida and Auburn is my prayer. It’s time to come around.

This is my take, all the time. Doesn’t matter a nit about who’s the coach, scheme, talent, etc…just play like a team that has their act together. We like to look down on Nichols state type teams but most mid level teams just look well put together and generally don’t appear to look lost or unmotivated.
Just go out there and play good ball gents.

That final Georgia play is the single worst call I have ever seen. Game on the line, come out with an I formation with the smallest player on the team at tailback and a RB at FB. Everybody on Vandy’s D knew what was coming–either a dive by the FB which they covered or a pitch to the TB which they also covered. The destruction of Georgia’s program is now well under way. I hope the Dawgs get to a bowl cause they are going to need the extra practice for next year. This is the worst Georgia coaching staff in history. It isn’t just Kirby although he is responsible for this collection of clowns. It’s ALL of them.

I’ve been thinking the same thing. He doesn’t see the field well at all. Probably premature, but just notice a lot of wide open people. It seems the D backs zero in on who he is zeroing in on. Of course, I see these things on replay.

No, there is reason for some concern. He definitely doesn’t see the field well and he doesn’t appear to be improving week to week. But I came into the year with next to no expectations for him (this year) because true freshman are almost never good right out of the gate. And considering where he played his high school ball, he’s going to have some serious growing pains.
