Foiling Jimmy Williamson

Eh, who am I kidding?  If there any place in the world someone can be charged with a drug-related violation in the absence of any drugs, it’s Athens, Georgia.

“However, police said Patrick admitted to keeping marijuana in a hidden compartment built within a fake can of Arizona Strawberry Tea that was confiscated.”

Sigh…never, ever talk to the police (unless granted immunity). It can only hurt you, not help you. Aside from (maybe) admitting to speeding in hopes of getting your ticket reduced to speeding <10 mph, there really is no justifiable reason to do so (even so some would argue not to even admit to speeding, as your chances of getting the charge thrown out in court immediately goes out the window).

This should be something they teach athletes during orientation. Know your rights, kids.

FYI — one of the most informative videos you’ll find on youtube. Even the police officer who appears in part 2 agrees with everything the lawyer says, basically saying, ‘yea, he’s 100% right…if you’re smart, you’ll stay quiet…yet most people just can’t help themselves and start talking.’

The Georgia Way strikes again. But let’s be clear…tough guy, first name Kirby has got no more control over his players than the good reverend. So maybe it’s something else besides who the coach is that is the problem?

At least they didn’t get run in. And I wonder if that RA got stomped out after the cops left.

This is such a stupid law/rule.

Part of the problem…..really? Get real man, it’s quite obvious what the “problem” is! Don’t sit there and be politically correct….this ain’t Austin, TX!
The damn problem is the thugs we recruit, plain and simple.
There are two things that those “thugs” are gonna do….smoke dope and screw something. If you won’t admit that then you are lying to yourself…or else you have never lived in the South!

Right. Only thugs smoke weed and have sex in college. Next time try a little thicker veil on your bigotry. The only “problem” is an antiquated school policy. That and a real dick of an RA.

  4. Only at UGA do we publicize an investigation into marijuana use. Not that players have been busted selling it or transporting it. An investigation into freaking use! Everyone talks about a need for culture change to get the program where it wants to be. Well…the culture that needs changing is everywhere but on the field. The real culture problem is in the stands, ACCPD, B-M and journalism buildings.

Nearly everything about these people/places totally contradicts where we want to go and what we need to do to get there. 9-10 wins/year and a good man as HC isn’t good enough yet way too many actually believe that, in this day and age, we can become elite while keeping the same culture. Believe we can become elite without stepping on toes and without dabbling in the gray. Lmfao! Those leading this program know what they want but they don’t seem to have clue how to get there

Now we know why Crowder is working with the LBs – Patrick can’t stay away from the weed. He also isn’t aware of drug dogs or Miranda rights.

Lay off the RA. He was pissed as the rest of us about losing to Vandy and decided to do something about it! If he helps us lose a few more we can keep doing what we’re best at, bellyache.

Or at least be smarter about it and go of campus to partake. Florida game should fun without two starting LB’s.

No arrest, so does anything have to happen? Isnt this where we could see some good old fashioned processing? Can’t he just get a real stern talking to about the joys of air conditioning?

Mark Richt has lost control of Kirby Smart’s team.

I’m surprised it took this long for it to be said. I reckon everyone is off their game following this past weekend.

Hidden compartment built into a fake can…dude you must be serious about the weed.
I’ve never heard one story out of UGA about taking down the seller.
But I am wondering. What is the hell was Zach Cunningham on Saturday. What ever it was every dawg needs some in a hidden compartment built into a fake can of tea.
The bookstore has called Natrez to find out where he bought this can or did he make it. The boy has a future in another occupation. Time to move onto it dude.

Take the can, trot over to the B-M complex, take a piss into the can, and wait for the AD.
    The let us know.
While there ask the AD, formerly with the Gators, are the dawgs chances zero in JAX in a few days. He probably will tell you there is no chance. Why. That is a program and UGA is drug rehab facility.

I like that little stat over to the right.
Dawgs have lost 6 games since the beginning of 2013 where they were at least a 10 point favorite.
Then think back to the preseason rankings.
I think Georgia has a way too high opinion about its football program since 2013. In many ways it is fortunate not to be worse than it is.
Where is this team going as of late? It has lost three of the last four its played. When was the last time a Dawgs team lost to UT and Vandy in the same season and between the hedges. Maybe the Dawgs need to play all their games on the road, and stay there during the season.
Possible no one could travel with a hidden compartment inside a fake can of tea. Best to train UGA to sniff the dorms, practice facilities, Sanford Stadium, and the bus.

“Police were called to the dorms by an R.A., who reported the strong odor of marijuana coming from the fourth floor of the door. Police then followed the odor until they reached the room occupied by Patrick and Smith.”

That sounds like an episode of Scooby Fucking Doo. What a joke, seriously. I would be smoking weed to if I lost to Vanderbilt. give the kids a break, for God’s sake.

Puff get s grip. What Fucking stupid moron on scholly smokes pot in his freaking dorm room at UGA for crying out damn loud.
Hellooooo. This ain’t Oklahoma and Switzer ain’t the HC. Duh.

I remember my youngest son his senior year in HS at some UGa tailgate party and my oldest son then a college soph bringing him home. Amid loud protests from youngest before the game.
      What I heard was…
Oldest son: “I went by to check like you asked me to. Dad …it’s was loud, half the kids are under age drinking and they are smoking pot like they think they’re at Woodstock or something.”
Youngest son: “Give it a rest! Dad I didn’t touch anything illegal.”
DAD: You shouldn’t be there. And now your not. We will watch it on the tube.

Every once in a while, I’ll look at the Red & Black online. I’ll usually stop at the police blotter just to see what constitutes crime on and around campus. What has surprised me is that students are the ones calling the police more often than not, and they’re narcing on fellow students for piddling ass bullshit (weed, drinking and talking loud outside late at night, etc.). That’s a big change from when I was in school in the mid- to late 80s. Short of a murder taking place before our eyes – and maybe not even then – we never would have called the cops. Athens-CC being what it was (and apparently still is), we knew they, and especially the UGA police, weren’t there to help us.

It’s a big change in mentality between generations.

I lived in hill hall, rm301, 1988-1990. I was on campus until summer ’92. Not once in all my time there did I ever see or smell or even hear anyone talk about weed. I’m quite sure times are different now……I smell it just driving to town to run an errand frequently now.

I had a dorm room bordered along the main wall by a football walk-on who loved to host football player parties. No, I couldn’t smell the weed through the cinderblock walls, but smoke would be literally pouring out of the door when I knocked on it at 3 a.m. the morning prior to a test or final. If someone had called the police, we might have had to forfeit the next week’s game.

I hated that guy. Major butt-kisser, weasel social climber. Going nowhere fast, right? Woke up one day and HE HAD HIS OWN SITCOM ON CBS. Which fortunately lasted all about six shows.

Is anyone in Athens concerned about the players smoking dope?

I mean we come on here week after week and talk about undisciplined play, lackadaisical effort and stupid mistakes. Do you think there is any correlation between the two things?

I tend to agree that weed is overblown as a general rule in society and that young people are gonna be young people, but c’mon. Flaming the RA for doing his job? Flaming the ACCPD for doing their job?

The only thing missing is a “young, black male” #BLM comment.

I dig it TN Dawg but at UF you don’t even miss any PT until the 3rd offense . It’s been that way since for 15 years . Bama much the same. Hey man , I ain’t no lib but these cats at every SEC school are smoking weed . NFL estimates 70% are smoking it. Let’s s say we are minus our backers because of this while the gators backers have 2 offenses and still play. What is needed is a uniform drug policy across the SEC or the nation. You best believe this makes a difference to some of these recruites . Not sayin I dig it its just how it is. Don’t give up any advantage to any SEC school

The Process will only work in Athens when we get a new PC. Saban has Tuscaloosa law enforcement in his pocket. Kirby’s not going to keep the talent on the field until that part of the Process is initiated. But he’s turning a Reefer Battleship. It takes time.
