He’s walkin’, yes, indeed.

If one of your criticisms of Mark Richt was that Georgia needed a head coach more animated on the sideline during games, then Kirby Smart’s your guy.

One of the more stupid rants against CMR was the perception that he was not engaged on the sidelines because he kept his cool and stayed focused on the matter at hand rather than what had just transpired. But if you bought into that nonsense, then you believe Kirby’s antics somehow improve his coaching ability. What ev’s….

Let’s just see better clock management, better personnel changes, better sideline communication, and better chewing on the ref’s ass for calling PWG crap no matter what the sideline demeanor is like.

In 2001 we needed Richts calmness and now we need Kirbys fire. Richts calmness seemed to turn into indifference. Let’s hope Kirbys fire doesn’t turn into a rant that the players shrug off.

Maybe not indifference, but clearly he lost some edge after his wife’s cancer scare. We went from rock solid on the road to scary bad at times.

  3. Richt’s demeanor was one of the main reasons we won some of the games we did and had success Georgia hadn’t accomplished in decades. Then, somehow, it became a detriment. But, hey, bulging forehead veins win championships.

Another really dumb stance/knock I remember was that his success was with Donnan’s players. Somehow doing more than the other guy could was supposed to be a put down. What about “but Florida and UT are down”? So can we discredit their success since we were down? Could our success have had something to do with them being down??

Back to “present day” and all I heard was do you think Kirby would allow us to look unprepared? Do you think Kirby will allow us to have bad special teams? Do you think Kirby wild mismanage the clock? A lot of really really dumb comments by our fan base that are coming home to roost. Oh well. If we can’t win and Kirby can’t win with Richt’s players I can at least have fun with this.

Actually I am looking forward to this weekend. We are unbeaten the past 15 years on bye weekends. I am hoping we can continue that streak Saturday.

So the story here is that Smart walked 3000 steps during a football game?

And that demonstrates something of note?

This article was the biggest waste of space on the interwebs I’ve ever seen. Who the hell wants to count taps and pats? If his dancing and animation is a motivator, then clearly our players are more fans of jazz than tap. What horseshit.

But Sports and Grits is a dead blog. So Kirby better tighten up… they still own the name. We will be talkn’ wrastlin and important matters there if he doesn’t bring home a title.
    Wuz up Chuck?
    Just sayin’.

Still a coordinator at heart not a HC. Maybe Kirby will change with time but he’s not HC material now.

Gee I dunno. Not HC material? Thats harsh. I’m thinkin ” of course he is.” He’s as much HCM as,that kissy face Herman. Imho. Granted he may not luv them up like Richt but he’s on a 1st name basis. 😉

Yes he is because he has forgotten one of the old maxims “Familiarity Breeds Contempt.” The “i’m just Kirby” stick on the recruiting trail is ok but when the time to coach begins he should be Coach not Kirby.
