Drip, drip, drip at Baylor

I figured this kind of stuff would eventually start to leak out:

The Journal on Friday quoted Baylor regents who detailed some of the Pepper Hamilton findings for the first time. According to the regents, in at least one case, Briles “knew about an alleged incident and didn’t alert police, the school’s judicial-affairs staff or the Title IX office in charge of coordinating the school’s response to sexual violence.”

I know winning means everything, and I know Briles hired Jimmy Sexton, but can you imagine the shitstorm that’s going to rain down on the athletic director who hires Briles next?

  1. First paragraph from the WSJ:

“The sexual-violence scandal at Baylor University that cost its celebrated football coach his job involved 17 women who reported sexual or domestic assaults involving 19 players, including four alleged gang rapes, since 2011, according to Baylor regents.”

This program needs to be shut down. If the pointy-heads that deposit the checks can’t figure this out, someone needs to make it crystal clear to them. I can’t believe a fan would pay money to see them and I think the Big 12 should kick them out.

Briles says, “And I had a system where I was the last to know, and I should have been the first to know.”

Well, gee coach, thanks for confirming that for us.

To answer your question, nothing will happen to the AD who hires Briles next as long as Briles wins. In fact, 5 years into the hire if Briles is winning conference championships that AD will be called a genius and courageous for hiring Briles.
