Your weekly non-Dawg game day post, 11/5 edition

Let’s face it — college football has had better looking Saturdays this season than today.  But you post with the slate you have, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Vanderbilt

#9 Auburn

12:00 PM

How many points will Auburn have to score before you say Vandy has no chance of winning?

Georgia Tech

#21 North Carolina

12:30 PM

Dawgs beat the Heels, Jackets. Just sayin’.

#11 Florida

Arkansas

3:30 PM

Arkansas’ defense is turrible. Florida’s ain’t. That should be your ball game.

#1 Alabama

#13 LSU

8:00 PM

Coach O versus Junior. Good times.

#10 Nebraska

#6 Ohio State

8:00 PM

On thing I can say with confidence: after this one, the Big Ten will have one less team in the top ten.

Feel free to chime in with anything else in the comments.

Its a long time till Saturday nite in Lexington.

Vandy and Awbun will proly be interesting for a while. Maybe.

I can’t watch Tech, makes me nervous.

I have lots of leaves on my lawn…that’s bad, right?

Scorp..get some mulching blades on you lawnmower…run over the yard with the blade on a medium cut…do this once a week during fall and you’re yard will not need raking and will look great next summer. I haven’t raked in years. Go to Harbor Freight and get a mulching leaf blower with a bag to do the corners. Put the mulch on your garden plot or around your blueberries (or azaleas or blackberries). Much easier than getting rake blisters.

Thanks Ug…I got a really fine mulching system on my hot rod Raven hybrid lawn mower… Problem is I’ve got oaks, chestnuts and one big walnut tree so I have to run the sweeper to get the nuts up or they beat hell outa me and the lawn mower.

Once I get the nuts taken care of I am good to go with the mulcher (Kirby Smart said that.) 😀

Regarding UF-AR game, the converse can be said of the offenses. I expect/hope the Hogs to win.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Yankees and the media have a serious boner for B1G Football, especially OSU and UM. If THE ohio state university loses a nail biter, They might not drop much.

Won’t matter if they don’t get dropped much, 2 losses will knock them out of anything significant, including their title game. That loss to Pedophile State was a bad loss despite what the committee ranked PSU. Looks like Meechigan is capable of taking them down anyway but you never know what happens in any single game. Auburn may be the only 2 loss team that has a chance at making the final four because that would have to include taking Alabama down in Tusky.

      62-3.

It’s a safe bet Nebraska is out of the top ten.

Certainly not the primo Saturday of the year but when you love all things CFB like I do, there are plenty of entertainlng games for me, for once there isn’t major overlaps except at the usual evening slots. Glad we have UDub on late, don’t get to see them often, although Cal will not put up much of a fight. Just wish we were the noon game (and I don’t say that often), the Tigahs and Tide could be a great battle, at least for a while.

Georgia Southern showing up today in Oxford, they haven’t looked good all year. Worst GS team I have seen in many years but they lead Ole Miss by 14-3. Dang, won’t hold but Rebels didn’t take this one serious. I know they will come back but you have to wonder about the minds of 18-22 year old guys who work hard 350 days a year to play just 13 times.

Texas vs Texas Tech has probably the best 11:00 announcing team I’ve heard. Brando and Tillman are pretty good for a morning game.

Anyone else think that fumble review in the Auburn game was a clear sign of the SEC office being involved? When it takes five minutes and multiple conversations to determine there was indisputable evidence indicates there wasn’t really. That allowed Auburn to score the go ahead TD and gain momentum. I am all for getting the calls right, and don’t mind some delay to do so, but get suspicious when the SEC office is involved and getting Auburn to a higher paying bowl affects their bonuses. Not going all Grassy Knoll (which is still suspicious) on ya’ll but…just saying. Encouraged by how Vandy is moving the ball and sustaining drives on Auburn. Except for one 50 yard screen, we shut their offense down totally. Now if we could just get their OC to design our game plan next week. 🙂

Vandy’s D seems to be really good. What was billed when they hired Mason.

You look at their game log and they’ve come close against Aub, UF UK and South Carolina but they can’t score the ball. I would guess the only way they could score enough would be by giving them a 95 yard kick off return….womp womp.

Gotta love where Arky put the FU fans, not just in the sun, but beyond the end zone, past the sideline, and recessed behind the side grandstand by 10-15 yards. Some of those folks may not be able to even see the other goal line with binoculars. Have never seen worse sears, took balls to even build that section expecting someone to buy seats. I would have immediately gone to a bar and watched the game, then chewed out the person who sold them to me for not warning me that I would not be involved in the game experience at all. That said, couldn’t happen to a nicer group.

    • Mac: A long time ago and I mean a long time ago. The cheap seats at the old Colts stadium, one could not even see the other end of the field, from the field level seats, in the end zone. Players would disappear and then come over the “hill in the field’. With enough booze it was kinda fun, like watching cavalry charges over a hill, but they were very strange and shitty seats.

LOL, that is terrible. Fortunately tickets were about $5. Some brutal conditions there in the last part of the season as I recall from my black and white TV. And they think people would rather watch TV in 4K HD, wonder why?

Yep, the Pigs are actually using some creative offensive plays.
As for UGA … nah, we prefer to impose our will, win or lose.
