Well, this is an unexpected development.
Special teams coordinator: Shane Beamer (Georgia)
Georgia went 4-for-4 on field goals, including the game-winner as time expired to win at Kentucky. They also averaged 41 yards on five punts, with two landing inside the 20. Kentucky started nine drives at its own 25-yard line or back, as Georgia won the field position battle.
It’s all coming together, right?
Hmm. You see who won the DC award right?

I thought it was Saban’s defense.

It might just be….but it’s a shame we couldn’t find out with Smart and Pruitt on the same staff.

Pruitt needs to stop wearing those youth size hats.

It’s not the hat, it’s the heed, which will soon have the largest surrounding solar system East of Starkville

right. Actually, who knows? I think the last quarter was Eason’s turning point, though. Auburn best not stack the box…And if KS can see the benefit of having the kid operate out of the hurry up, we have a shot…at Auburn.
I do feel better about the GT game and the possibility of a bowl game.
And I WOULD love a re-match with TN in a bowl…but it ain’t happening,

Kublanow will need a pregame shot of barracuda testosterone. Good news is we might have something at receiver now.

So does all that make up for the Kentucky TD after the fumbled punt? I mean, did we break even on ST?

They misspelled his name. It’s actually spelled K-e-v-I-n B-u-t-l-e-r.

P.S. How cool would it be if they pass out Rodrigo glasses to the home crowd next Saturday?

Haha! That would be hilarious and appropriate.

Georgia even came close to finally setting up McKenzie to break a big punt return in the game. Of course, McKenzie still has a little too much belief in his superhuman abilities and muffed the punt that turned out to be a real killer in the game. That was really the only blemish on the special teams for the game, though. I was disappointed that Hardman didn’t get to return the kickoff when he was put out there in Reggie’s place. I’m dying to see what he can do.

The game winner was great…but that 49 yarder was the one that got me excited.

Beamer has a long way to go just to achieve mediocrity. He’s been our most consistently lousy assistant coach. Though it has been a pretty close competition between Beamer, Pittman, Chaney, and Coley. Not sure which one of these guys will end up the winner of the first annual Lakatos award.

Of course UGA gets a decent running game going, throws the ball reasonably well, and gets special teams working before this coming Saturday.
Of course AU’s injured QB has to come in to save a game against Vandy, and they lose their best two running backs and #1 receiver.
Ugh.

It was Kentucky, WarD. If we have our running game, passing game AND special teams “working” against Aubie, it will be a shock to this Dawg fan.

Sorry WDE, I’m not buying what you’re selling.

WarD, what’s the injury status? Your big back went out late. I’m assuming he’ll be back? And I guess White was hurt enough that Gus tried to win without him, but when Vandy didn’t go along, White had to come in to save the day.

Beamer was not the guy talking to @Ronthekicker3 before and after every kick it was The Butler. I don’t know whose idea it was but it was golden.

Maybe all the other special teams coordinators were worse and they had to fill the spot with someone…

I’m still trying to figure out how William Ham was chosen as the starting kicker over Rodrigo to begin the season.

Apparently, they thought he had regressed substantially since he was 16. I found the linked video when I searched Rodrigo Blankenship on Youtube. There is also a video of him kicking in the 2015 Army All-American game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIBGMDx8Vhc

It was a name/marketing thingy…..Ham kicks pigskin…Ham serves winning field goal….Ham goes spiral on the internet with tying point after kick….let’s git it on!

Hamm beat Rodrigo in the Oklahoma 1-on-1 drills in practice.

Very hard to believe. Even hamm’s sthat went through the uprights were low, and knuckled. Looked like a skulled 2 iron when players still used those type clubs.

Oklahoma drill is the 1-on-1 tackling drill. Kirby is all about the physical, you know? 😉

The coach on the sidelines with Blankenship is Kevin Butler.
Go back and watch the game.
Amazing how poor viewer eyesight is.
Blinded by bias and just getting an inaccrurate story out.
The Clinton Broafcast Company game crew is biased against UGA. Pruitt does not exist at Bama.
But Pruitt has put bama’s defense in a seoarate league.
The man can simply coach. Same with Butler. 12 points were big in the scheme of that game.

I don’t know if he will have the job or not but offer ST to Butler. What hurt could it do?
