What is this unusual feeling? This feeling of … what is it? Satisfaction?

No first downs for Allbarn in the second half. How good is that? Eason, Chubb, Michel, McKenzie and Nauta looked good, despite no TD’s for the offense. I feel happy!!!

4 decades of owning Aubie in these games 86-16 in outrageous fashion. I didn’t think we had a chance. Mo Smith = Tra Battle.

That second half was the best half of D that we’ve played since the 1st half of the 2011 SECCG.

Also, I relish Auburn losing so very, very much.

    Finally, 8-4 doesn’t seem terribly far-fetched anymore. We’ll see.

If it weren’t for two fluke-tastic plays in 2005 and 2013, they would have only beaten us TWICE since 2002. Man. Amazing.

I lost my mom the day of the Vandy game, I spent today at her house trying to get it ready for no one to be here all winter. This win is made even sweeter by the fact I’m about 30 minutes from the auburn campus. I’m gonna take my grand dogs for a ride to toomers corner with all the UGA stuff on my truck. Is that considered trolling?

Eason’s deep ball was much better tonight. If we can count on three or four of those a game where it’s either caught or we get a PI then that really opens up the playbook. Go Dawgs

Despite the two awful calls with Godwin, we dominated in every phase of the game. Big ups to the defensive line! Young guys were after it!

Seems to me Chaney has absolutely no confidence in Pittman and his OL. Otherwise, the only way you can explain the desperate playcalling in the redzone is Chaney just plain sucks. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Pittman and Chaney haven’t shown me shit.

Terrific day for the D and a much needed, big W.

    • This is what he’s always done. My Arkansas family warned me that he got too cute in the red zone. Godwin played a lot of QB in HS and I have no problem with those plays but doing it in the red zone mostly negates any advantage it gives you. Those are awesome plays in place of traditional play action.

Says a lot that Arkansas tried to make a stink when we hired Pittman but not Cheney. Hell….I often felt like Bobo outsmarted himself at times, too.

Arkansas didn’t make a stink when we hired Cheney because Cheney was working at Pitt at the time. Other than that, I agree with what you’ve said.

I hold out hope that Pittman can do wonders and cover up Chaney’s shortcomings. Ark did run all over UF’s D and Pittman built that line. Only time will tell. But as long as their making 6-7 figures, they deserve our wrath.

Of course, I see Ark is down right now against LSU. That’s mainly because of LSU’s running game. Maybe that just means UF is really going to get railroaded next weekend.

I don’t agree with the hate for Chaney. Everyone knows – including Pittman and Smart – that our OL is weak. It just is. Yes, Chaney could scheme around that some and hasn’t, and for all y’all that aren’t able to look ahead the fact that he doesn’t is frustrating.

But Chaney mainly has to develop Eason as a QB. If you saw the graphic CBS posted comparing Stafford and Eason at the same time in their careers it’s stunning that even though Eason has as bad a line as he does he still beats or equals Stafford in every statistic. I’d say Chaney is doing a pretty good job at developing his talent. The plays he’s calling are plays that Eason needs to be working on to develop properly. Razzle-dazzle might be more fun (assuming it always works) but it won’t help Eason get to where he needs to be next year. Patience, crickets.

The Godwin wildcat play was inexplicable. Beyond that, I thought Chaney did okay. I wish he’d work in a play-action pass on first down every once in a while after the team has picked up about 25 or 30 yards on nothing but runs, but it’s not the end of the world. I don’t understand why everyone is bitching so much about the trick play to Eason. They’d just gained one yard on two plays after having it 1st and goal. I’d have let Eason try to squeeze one in to somebody, but the play nearly worked.

      • If Godwin throws it away, that play is a nothingburger. The call was meh, Godwin’s decision making was atrocious.

Calling the play makes his decision-making relevant, and he’s not a QB. It would have been one thing if Godwin in the Wildcat had had some success this season on the ground, but it hasn’t, and nobody was cheating on the play. It was a terrible call.

Great game! Defense was lights out, offense moved the ball and kept it away from Auburn. I thought Chaney called a good game. Scoring was obviously a problem but Auburn had a hand in that as well. We even overcame some terrible officiating.

    Great win by the Dawgs!

I like how he will rage but RARELY when he’s 1 on 1 on the sideline. He seems well balanced. I really enjoy watching him coach 1 on 1.

Agree…he very, very rarely yells at players who make mistakes…although a dumb personal foul may get a raise in level. He’s working the whole game.

Of course it was really Saban’s defense, don’t cha know?

“The playcalling was excellent”. We rarely see that statement in reference to defense, but that’s exactly where it belongs.

Auburn put together a smash-mouth drive and rather than let them continue to whip our ass until we were down two or three scores, we got aggressive and in a hurry. Those inside blitzes put them on their heels and it was just a matter of time at that point until we got a major blunder out of their offense.

Did it help that White missed a couple of big plays? Yes, it did. But you don’t make those plays as often when your head is on a swivel and when your eyes are on the pass rush instead of downfield.

We challenged them to make plays that aren’t their strength and they failed. I love it. Make them beat you.

The fact that our offense ate .75 of possession time for the game is actually a huge improvement. We ate clock, scored 3 points, and kept our D from getting tired. Great game, great team win.

Georgia’s fourth in the country in time of possession. It’s the one aspect of what they’re trying to do on offense that’s worked. The problem is they can’t finish drives, and we saw that again last night. The defense was just so good (and White and his receivers were pretty bad) that it didn’t affect the outcome.

Not being able to get the ball in from the redzone is a direct function of the O-Line being not physical enough. Not griping, ’cause the Georgia O-Linemen really gutted it out this game. I now believe that Kirby has the team on the right track with the D. I really wish we could play some of those teams who beat us earlier again now.

I have noticed some dissatisfaction with the Godwin throw from the wilddawg that was intercepted, at least with the play call itself. It might be noted that the receiver, Chigbu, got body slammed about halfway into his route. Yes Godwin should have thrown the ball a little harder to get it out of the endzone, but having no receiver probably impacted the play.

And, of course, had the play worked, everybody would be very happy with the call. Of course.
