That look you have after a 31.34 passer rating

It didn’t look any better measured by QBR standards, either.

Who knew you could get a QBR of 1? Never saw anything that low. I guess Godwin’s was lower though, 0 for 2 with an interception, if it’s possible to go lower than a 1. Thank God for a defense that played their asses off.

I haven’t seen a dominant defense like that from Georgia since Todd Grantham was DC. Just joking.

I haven’t seen Georgia blitz that effectively in a long time.

We’ve seen it a good bit in Athens, where Auburn has yet to score more than seven points in a game this decade.

Y’all can flame me for Dawgrading, but just out of curiosity was Sean White injured? Coming off an injury?

Supposedly he was dinged up and didn’t practice much during the week. But, them’s the breaks.

Exactly, nobody felt sorry for us in out banged up years (I still say UT should be banned from having any conference home games until they fix that cow pasture of a field).

Well, the announcers were saying as much throughout the game, and what little I saw, he certainly was throwing the ball poorly. But I agree, the defense was obviously excellent. Vanderbilt has no more offensive talent even when Auburn is in an injured state and they drove for the winning score. No such thing this time= big progress, IMO.

I read on Al.com that Gus said White was hurt, but some players contradicted that claim and said White practiced during the week.

Gus said White had not thrown a ball in practice for two weeks. fwiw. Judging by the way he threw, maybe he shudda practiced?

Gus got some ‘splainin to do. Why would he leave White in when clearly he didn’t have it last night? Must be one of those “coaches decision” things that drives a fanbase to post on Get The Picture: Bloviation for the Dawgnation

I truly hope Auburn never comes out of its’ coma and fires Gus. How can a major university be so stupid and hang on to this guy?

      • Gus’s offense is the ultimate “Saturday Football” offense that gives Saban’s “Sunday Football” defense trouble.

That’s bought him some goodwill. I’d say he has another few years before they tire of him.

According to my AU grad brother-in-law, Gus needs to beat Bama to save his job. That, of course, was slurred speach around 8pm last evening and I doubt he made it to Sunday School this morning. Me, I’m off to my Supermoon, Druid inspired sacrifice of an Auburn icon.

They were grinding the running game in the first half. In the second half they wanted to throw for some strange reason. I tend to think our defense had something to do with it. what a job they did!

Danielson said after the game that the halftime interview included them saying they needed to stretch the field–he thought maybe because their RB already had 20 carries at the half, I guess, and that’s too many to most humans over the course of a whole game. So their lack of depth resulted in going away from their strength. (I can hear Mike Bobo saying it… balance IS all that.)

The two Auburn guys fortunate enough to score Georgia season tickets directly behind me cussed and yelled Gus the entire game.I have never heard anyone so upset with their coach. Oh wait.

You know you have plunged a dagger deep in Auubrns heart when the fans are openly talking about removing Georgia from their every year game and likening them to Tech.

  9. Come out of the break up 7 with an injured QB and chunk it three straight times. Makes some sense, right?

The issue to me wasn’t poorly thrown passes as much as good coverage, lots of pressure, and the few drops by receivers that happen to all teams. The loss of Pettway was a far greater problem for them, and Gus’ abandoning the HUNH offense that worked well for them on the 1st half drive. Can all Dawgrade this all you want but this was a solid UGA defensive win that overcame some bizarre red zone play calling. But then, we have sucked in the red zone against far worse defenses than Auburn’s.

Defensive substitutions seemed to slow them down…on purpose I have no doubt. They certainly missed Petway. I, on the other hand, did not miss him at all.

The defense was lights out. There shall be no dawgrading of this win. Any one who wants to discuss it can meet be in the parking lot.

White was injured over two weeks ago, yet he played the second half against a good Vandy defense. He was fine in the first half until we knocked his dick in the dirt a few times. Then his accuracy and timing were gone. I would have gone to Franklin but apparently he has ball security issues. Pettway was the bigger miss for them but not sure it would have made much difference yesterday.

Absolutely, he was fine to play a week ago and had no performance issues. Now seven days of treatments and rest and we have to excise his inability? BS. There are many in the Auburn community that feel he was disciplined last week in the first half an they panicked and let him play in the 2nd half to save their butts. There was no knowledge at all about an injury before that game with Vandy, and he didn’t seem to have any problems when they came back from the locker room for the third quarter. It did seem suspicious. Either way, Pettway was the bigger fall off than White would ever be, and we had injuries as well..

Love to see Lawson Adams and Brown lose. 3 kids that should have stayed home to play for UGA. No state pride!!!!
